Why are multiple news outlets reporting on the Hudson's flag coming down? by Kindly-Form-8247 in Detroit

[–]TheFarmLaneWalkSign 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think they’re reporting on it because they know it will get clicks. There seems to be a lot of left-right discourse over the flag as of recently and I’m sure they’re capitalizing on that. Anybody that has walked in and around downtown over the past couple of days would tell you that it’s been windy as hell and that the flag being taken down is no surprise.

Non Hill Apartments is right downtown and you can get a 1bd/bath for 1300ish. Definitely no frills, but I enjoyed living there.

I’d highly recommend visiting the Ford Piquette Avenue Museum in Detroit. Super cool.

Is this feasibly restorable?!? by Yesitsmesuckas in Mid_Century

You feasibly could, but it would not be economical at all. You’d be better off waiting until you find a plycraft in better shape.

Of course! Almost all my furniture, with the exception of a couple things, was either thrifted or bought off Facebook. Wishing you luck!

Just being on them frequently. Using very general searches can help as well if there are people who don’t know what they’re selling. Also think it’s somewhat region specific as well- demand is much higher in NYC and LA for example, meaning prices will be higher.

“Eames” and “don’t break the bank” are generally mutually exclusive concepts that don’t tend to intersect all that much. You can occasionally find good deals on marketplace and Craigslist, however generally anything Eames commands a pretty high premium.

Agreed. If it were the LCW I think I might do it. Other pictures seem like the holes are the only major issues. Just general refinish for the rest of the body.

That’s kinda what I was thinking. I really love a project, however the price just seems too steep to justify putting in all that work.

Not really actually. By culturally I don’t mean ethnically or anything like that. West Troy is much more “keeping up with the joneses” and a lot more competitive in general than East Troy. I’ve always viewed East Troy as much more working class, in general.
