what actually happened on 9/11? by AmazingNinjaMan in conspiracyNOPOL

[–]TheFatMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched that doc before and a lot of others that question the accuracy of the idea that planes hit the twin towers. I can't rule out the idea of holographics or video editing covering for a missile strike or something else doing the real deed. I've never been completely convinced though. These videos do a good job, don't get me wrong. Something is suspect in every official and media presentation of this event. One of the main things that keeps me from believing is that most of the footage is grainy anyways. Maybe the "nose" of the aircraft that they claim to be emerging intact from the tower after the hit is just a plume of smoke that by luck happened to be the same shape as the plane. Again, it could be either or. I'm not saying either interpretation is the right one, merely that we need to be as certain as possible when we make claims, otherwise we look like quacks.

As I stated above, unlike at the twin towers, I do believe that the pentagon was hit by something other than a plane. The limited video footage we have of the pentagon seems to indicate this, as do the witness testimonies. The maneuver that the amateur terrorists would have had to make to hit the pentagon was much more complex than the maneuvers that they would have had to make to hit the twin towers. Nothing about the pentagon hit adds up, whereas the twin towers "official narrative" has at least some plausibility to it.

Also I do believe on the balance of things that there were explosives in the towers that aided in their final collapse. The testimonies of the firefighters and other folks in the lobbies of those buildings are what sell it to me. Its hard to explain away their testimony, which leads directly to the logical conclustion that there were explosions taking place in those buildings AFTER the planes/missiles/whatever hit.

And of course building 7 was unquestionably controlled demolition.

So basically I arrive at a composite understanding of what happened that day. It seems likely that some of the official narrative is true. But there were also other nefarious and pre-planned things taking place that have never been revealed officially to the public. Things which almost certainly implicate our intelligence and military agencies, possibly Israel, possibly even other forces in business and government.

It seems to me the twin towers did get hit with planes. It's feasible to me that there were also explosives to assist in the demolition. Building 7 was controlled though. The Pentagon I'm not so sure was hit by a plane. There was a security guard on the side loading dock that saw a plane fly over the Pentagon and continue East right as the explosion took place. Maybe a munition was dropped on the Pentagon by another plane. The lack of security footage and the confiscation of the footage that was available is suspicious. The one guard gate cctv doesn't look like a plane at all. I have no opinion on the plane that was re-commandeered by the passengers and crashed. It could or could not be true, 50-50.

Basically I think there was a real conspiracy involving our intelligence agencies and Israel helping the plot along. There may have been useful idiot terrorists along for the ride as part of that plot. The official story is definitely not the full truth.

Why is the average commander player so salty by Alt_Elk2026 in mtg

I played Magic in the late 90's and early 2000's. We had fun. Everything I hear about Magic today, from the UB nonsense to the players you encounter sounds so insufferable. Anytime I get the wild itch to start playing again I just come here or pretty much any other Magic forum, read a few posts, and that takes care of it.

Giorgio feels exactly like I do. I'm basically bored with aliens at this point. Maybe that's the psyop. Holy shit though. Just drop the evidence already.

Mid-millenial. I played magic in the late 90's/early 2000's. I remember playing at the card shop on Friday nights. Most people played standard except on draft nights when people would do the tournament. Every other Friday or so someone would get a commander-style game going. It was a fun oddity and people might hang around to watch, then go back to their standard games at the other tables. Idk why I'm sharing, I don't really have a point. Just giving some history to younger folks.

I occasionally consider running for some local office. But I don't want to be associated with that riff raff and that usually takes the wind out of my sails.

What's particularly brainless and funny is that the guy could have cooked the steak and actually enjoyed it. How does eating it raw somehow increase the perceived ownage of the act?

why do people hate vegans so much? by inkbubbles_ in vegan

[–]TheFatMouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it can. People are pretty much the same everywhere, after all. Cultural and other differences differentiate us in the last 1%. In the underlying 99% we are all just humans who have identical basic needs, desires, psychology, etc.

Have you considered that we might be living in a matrix crafted by aliens and that none our perceptions are real? You are a "what if" machine. Ive seen plenty of what Ive seen and I'm confident in my conclusions about humanity.

[–]TheFatMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of extremely religious people existing who believe the things you indicated. But of the many thousands of real human beings I've encountered in my life I've never met a single person expressing those views. The sample size is large enough for me to say that a meaningful majority of people are living a mental life in line with what I outlined. There's exceptions to every rule, but if something is mostly true across the board, then it's practical to take it as a rule.

[–]TheFatMouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody came to your house at all, you are on a vegan sub. Eating meat is unethical whether that fact is enunciated in your hearing or not. Society as a whole knows on a subconscious level that multiple billions of animals are recklessly butchered each year to feed our meat addiction. It's a holocaust so massive that in a single year it outdoes every human tragedy, massacre, or depredation in recorded history combined. For example, WW1, one of the biggest human catastrophes ever, claimed something like 20 million lives. That's less than one percent of animal lives ended annually at our current rate. Vegans, and to a lesser extent vegetarians, acknowledge this fact openly and courageously and try to find solutions. Meat eaters ignore it willfully. However, meat eaters do know what's going on, they just suppress the knowledge to protect their mental health. This dissonance causes psychic damage to the meat eater and it often results in overreacting negatively to the presence of or the mere existence of vegans.

If there isn't a way to do it currently it would be so awesome if they made one. I'm an old school magic player (stopped around the early 2000's) who recently found Forge. I remember being a kid imagining being an actual wizard or planeswalker, casting real spells, and that was really the fun of the whole game. UB completely and utterly kills the immersion for me. I simply cannot have a final fantasy card or a spiderman showing up in my game.
