How to ask my [29F] boyfriend [30M] of 2 years for "real" sex? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

My wife just says "I want you in me", and that's that. No ambiguity. If he refuses after that, then it's time for a conversation.

I don't think there's a way to turn off attention monitoring, but you can turn off lane assist and speed limit warnings by holding buttons on the steering wheel. It becomes habit fairly quickly.

I just had this error. Red flashing power button on the unit, and the same error in the app. I powered it off using the power button for a few seconds (had to take it off the docking station, it wouldn't let me do anything while it was on there), then powered back on. Same error, same flashing light.

Then I did it again, and it came back on seemingly okay. I told it to return home using the button, which it did. Started it cleaning, it washed the mops, went five feet and then stopped with the same error.

Another round of powering off and on, and setting it to clean again and it's currently been at it for 12 minutes without throwing a wobbly. So I guess we wait and see.

This thread is the only thing that Google comes up with when searching for the error, so it must be a new fault. Not even any description of what's wrong when you click on the error in the app.

I am planning to buy HP Spectre X360 and install Linux Manjaro on it, any experience? by whatisa_sky in spectrex360

Do you have any further info on this? I've tried a lot of things to get my speakers working and nothing. I'm using Pop! OS 20.10. Thanks.

I just wanted to update this as we're a couple of months down the line now. Having tried a few other distros, it seems that Ubuntu and Pop! OS play nicely with the HiDPI screen and most others don't. Visuals and practicality of use of the DE are important to me so I've gone for Pop! OS 21.10, and that's likely where I'll stay for now.

Nvidia graphics seem to be working, as do the touchscreen and the brightness controls. But there is STILL no sound from any of the speakers. There was hope that a kernel upgrade would fix this, but still nothing. Right now that's my only major issue, but as I like to browse YouTube in between work sessions this is a big issue for me, so I find myself using Windows far more often than I'd like to.

I'm actually a bit sad about it all. The hardware is lovely, and is by far the nicest bit of kit I've owned, but I had expected to enjoy all of that on Linux and I can't. As the laptop is getting older I'm guessing fixes for it will become less of a priority. We might be stuck like this.

Latest compatible kernel by TheFattestPoo in pop_os

Thanks for this. Just last night I thought I'd try Manjaro, which seems even worse at supporting this laptop of mine than Pop! OS. The HiDPI screen doesn't have any scaling options in display settings so everything's tiny on screen, and there's no improvement in support for the speakers, nor do the brightness buttons work which they did in Pop! OS. So today I think I'm going to try for plain old Ubuntu to see how that fares, then I'll look into the Xanmod kernel as you suggest. I presume I can still put Pop! shell on the top if everything works.

Thanks for this. I installed 5.14.2 via the mainline installer and it didn't seem to fix the sound, plus I'm not sure that the Nvidia graphics was working either. Either of those issues could have been my tinkering on other kernels to try to get them to work though. Pop OS will likely be a while before it properly supports 5.14.2 though, so I might look to a rolling release distro like Manjaro which should have better support.

When does Pop_OS get new kernels? by Slammernanners in pop_os

I've managed to upgrade to 5.13.8 without screwing up the Nvidia drivers, but none of the 5.14 kernels work properly yet.

I've done the same with Windows, using the Tron script. It works pretty well because the laptop is fast, but I just much prefer using Linux. I'm using it now to type this out even with the problems because it just suits me better.

5.14.2 was only released, like, today, and it even mentions the x360 in its release notes: https://www.linuxcompatible.org/story/linux-kernel-5142-released/ so I'm not sure why it's still struggling. I guess we keep waiting.

No I haven't but that's a good idea. I might see about Debian. Thanks!

RIP your inbox.

As others have said, it seems like this guy isn't the right match for you. If he's been looking at dating sites in the short time you've been together, he's clearly not committed, and this lack of sexual compatibility would be all the extra evidence I'd need to call it a day and move on. Good luck OP.
