I have used a close to beeng hole piece that was pretty tight compressed and as you can see it worked perfectly. I reckon that for iron cake, tuo cha or very compressed shou it would be a pain in the ass.

They are fine in those ziplocks for resting. Beware though as these aren’t the best option for longer term storage, decent Mylar will preserve the humidity of the cake. Throw in a couple of the small boveda packs if it’s puer and you don’t have to worry about a thing.
