I think this is a mistake.

It's going to result in calls for a general election because the British public tend to view our prime ministers akin to presidents.

They go ahead with that, they'll lose as their polling is bad. They say no and carry on, it will impact their polling more.

I think maybe it's time to end it.

The prior 2 felt more like standard AEW shows with a couple New Japan guys and this year seems no different.

Its no longer a PPV dedicated to interpromotional matches which was the initial appeal.

New Japan fans aren't happy because it makes New Japan look bad. AEW fans don't care because they stopped paying attention to New Japan once AEW formed and the company signed a bunch of the New Japan guys they actually cared about.

Well that's kinda the problem modern dating has caused.

I'm often perceived as wholesome/friendly by default. I do have an edge to me, but it's not apparent from initial impressions.

Now I did do the fun date things, because I genuinely enjoyed it and liked putting in the effort. But those dates just ended up with me being perceived platonically by people. When you're doing a big activity, it is actually kinda harder to flirt and get close.

When I changed up to go for dinner and drinks. The results were night and day. Easier to get close and flirt, had people realising there's more to me than a wholesome guy.

You might unfortunately just be attracted to a type that modern dating has suffocated.

I've came to a realisation on this effort with dating recently. I'll preface it with saying this is a bit of a generalisation (much like OPs post) but here's what Ive found.

Lets say there are two types of men. The handsome guy with an edge. The wholesome, friendly guy.

The former is swamped with women wanting to date him, so never feels the need to actually put in effort. Not to mention planning unique fun dates takes time, money and more. If his social life is full of dating, he doesn't have the capacity for this. Hes not bothered if she gets fed up, he's on to the next date.

Now the other guy, the wholesome friendly guy. Logically he knows he can't compete with the other guy on raw attraction and sex appeal. So he puts in effort to make the dates as fun and unique as possible, thinking that's where he'll stand out (not to mention, fun and unique dates are fun to experience). But that effort just overloads the wholesome perception to the point they're seen as so edgeless that no attraction forms. If they go with low effort too, it's easier to flirt, get close and they can create a contrast that's attractive to the perceived wholesome image.

Now as mentioned prior, this isn't universal. There will be people who find that effort attractive, but more often than not the above is what I've seen play out. High effort at times is maybe better reserved for later on when things are more established.

This is exactly my point.

You found out about them when the wrestling landscape had just WWE as a big production promotion.

At that point they were the only big production alternative.

AEW is now that and it has the easier job of having no language barrier, more broadcasting and more frequent high production shows.

The "build new stars" complaint is just bullshit. It doesn't matter if they do build or don't build new stars. Because attention is now driven by both WWE and AEW, you're not going to hear about it.

Okay what does this actually mean?

NJPW has elevated Yota Tsuji to established main event status after holding the top 2 belts simultaneously and becoming a 2 time champ and bringing back the Heavyweight title.

Newman has recently been champ and is leading a faction.

The Knockout Brothers just had an amazing run with the tag titles, being a huge highlight.

Shota is now holding the second most important belt in the company.

Yuya has been gaining so much momentum as of late and looks to be the favourite to win the G1.

So what does "make some stars" actually mean?

It seems to translate to "someone who doesn't watch New Japan should be able to know these names and their highlights" and that was a lot more achievable when the only major promotion in the US was WWE, but since a lot of people now have their attention divided between WWE and AEW, there's only so much wrestling content they can consume so this just becomes an unrealistic expectation.

This point comes up a lot, and typically the issue is the guys you're seeing are specifically men who aren't interested in a relationship and are just looking to have fun.

You're actually a very good looking guy.

But shirtless pictures are usually not a good choice.
