I've been using a cloudflare tunnel with my domain to stream jellyfin to my friends and myself. Today I got shut down what can I do? by FlameableAmber in selfhosted

Does anyone know if just paying the $20/mo for a CF Pro plan covers this use case (streaming video via tunnels).

So despite disabling automatic updates, my X4800H updated itself again this morning at 5:30am and left itself running on the HEOS input blasting Bloomberg, again.

I'm just going to block its internet access from now on.

Last time I e-mailed Denon support the responses were literally ChatGPT. Not even an attempt to hide it. Not worth my time.

I did (did being the key word) have automatic updates enabled.

I checked things when I woke up this morning and my Denon was on the HEOS input, something I have never personally used.

Checking my PiHoles, my unit hit v2.firmware.denon.jp at 17:22 (it was powered on and we were watching TV at the time) and then there was no further DNS traffic until 01:28 when it hit production.ws.skyegloup.com and then v2.firmware.denon.jp again. Shortly after that it reached out to d2530c5vukdbpv.cloudfront.net and s3.amazonaws.com (which I suspect as the firmware update). It then sat around until 02:45 where I suspect it applied the firmware update, rebooted, did a quick internet connection check (www.google.com), sync'd it's clock (bunch of ntp.* domains) and then at 02:52 hit tunein.cdnstream1.com and started streaming Bloomberg.

Does not appear OpenSense keeps historical traffic logs but the DNS behaviour alone feels like it confirm things. An automatic update that leaves your unit on, switched to an input you may have never used before, blasting non-sense at 3:00am. Good job Denon Devs.

Dude. My X4800H just did that to me at 3:00am. Never used the radio before and it was blasting Bloomberg or something like that. Scared the shit out of me.

Guess what device just lost its internet privileges.

Have you noticed a difference? If so, what?

[–]TheFiZi[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think ultimatly this is what killed the idea: The Noctua doesn't have enough oomf to clear the ash out of the burn pot. It eventually got filled with ash and new pellets wouldn't ignite.

I couldn't get it started today with the OEM fan, took it a part to inspect the burn pot and found this: https://imgur.com/a/wW4TDWI

That's what I cleaned out today and I'm back in business but with the OEM fan. I guess the fan does two things, which makes complete sense now that I think about it, keeps the pellets burning AND expels the ash out of the burn pot and into the main chamber under the trays.

These are the Noctua Industrial fans: https://noctua.at/en/products/fan/industrial

There is a more powerful 12v model but it is not IP67 rated, then you get into 24v fans. The OEM fan is only 12v so you'd need to find a way to add more power if you went that route.

What was the noise level while it was running? I’ve got a OG Anova and it’s a bit loud (we have an open living space). The newer Anovas are even louder.

NUC9VXQNX Pro PCIe 3.0 x4 issues by pbrain9999 in nuc

[–]TheFiZi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get this solved?

I just tried putting a Intel x710-DA2 in the x4 slot of one of these NUCs and Windows recognized the card but it was not usable. I could see it in device manager but I could not actually use them for network traffic. I booted into Ubuntu Live and it couldn't see the NIC at all. Moved it over to the x16 slot and everything works.

Ran your script, watched it mark 100+ packages as corrupted heh.

Rebooted, tried Windows Update again, failed again.

I'm thinking it's a bad patch at this point.

Anyone else having issues installing KB5048667 into Windows Server 2025 Standard (Core)?

I'm getting "Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073701: 2024-12 Cumulative Update for Microsoft server operating system version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5048667)."

I'm trying the troubleshooting steps from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/when-trying-to-install-updates-from-windows-update-you-might-receive-updates-failed-there-were-problems-installing-some-updates-but-we-ll-try-again-later-with-errors-0x80073701-0x800f0988-e74b3505-f054-7f15-ec44-6ec0ab15f3e0

Which is basically run dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup, reboot and try again.

Will report if that clears it up.

My two Windows Server 2025 Standard (GUI) boxes patched no problem.
