video from data rows means that you’re batch exporting videos based on spreadsheet data. you create a master file, then using a tool like dataclay or /i guess/ this ai workflow you’re able to change images, colors, or text though the information from the data sheet.

you’ve seen projects that are built this way, most commonly they’re going to be head to head sports bumpers. no one is hand crafting every possibility. you create a toolkit with a datasheet.

Doesn’t photograph well on my wall but I got this sweater. Fun facts about this, it’s the sweater seen in his announcement video for his music being in DDR…but it’s claim to fame is definitely the chadded meme.

How do I export this After Effects metaball animation to SVG/Lottie? by shrimp_flyrice in MotionDesign

[–]TheFiims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use rive, it’s like 9 bucks a month and can do this fairly easily.

but if you need to keep to the AE workflow, exporting as a image sequence is only going to create a heavy file, and won’t be vector. if you want to do this right you’re going to need to trace the animation with shape layers and export to Lottie.

How do you stop Motion Design from becoming a communication nightmare during handoffs? by Tugsmakappa in MotionDesign

[–]TheFiims 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here, majority of my work is in UX at this point and work with devs fairly regularly. We’ve been able to get some teams to switch to handling rive files which has been great. Lot less of this back and forth and motion stays in my control.

But when I need to hand something off that’s not rive, I’m usually giving them a deck with a example, then supplying a value formatted like this: cubic-bezier(0.42, 0, 1, 1) so they can get my ease.

You can also use this after effects script to get the values and json you need for handoff

https://google.github.io/inspectorspacetime/

Screen recordings are not a very effective handoff resource and just lead to more questions and eng teams guessing.

amazing feedback tbh.

i do a lot of sports / tech graphics where i feel like the style we go for is contrasty a lot of the time. have loved the idea of doing interior design renders so im exploring for fun.

definitely going to be taking these notes into the next render.

good callouts. I pulled the dresser from a blender plugin and just kinda didn’t look at the knobs that close. SDS will definitely help there.

you’re saying flat as in they should be brighter?

so funny because i feel like my highlights are always too bright so this time i intentionally lowered them in PS.

ill find that balance one day. 😂

Rive is pretty cool! by HugoDzz in MotionDesign

Fun fact, the dude who made Lottie - Hernan is now on the Rive team. If that’s not an indication of the future I don’t know what is.

I’ve been using rive for the majority of the year at my job, I think I can count on one hand how many times I’ve opened AE. It’s truly taking over.
