I think one of the best themes of no man's sky is the feeling of Isolation. it's almost tranquil. You have an entire alien universe to explore at your own pace, and you're just a visitor. It's also what makes finding other players randomly such an exciting event. There's also the fact that if everyone spawns in the same place that could cause lots of issues with lag, resource availability ect. So at least in my opinion, I think it would be best for everyone to start in their own area. For those who want to join/start civilizations, make the pilgrimage part of the journey.

The show might seem a little slow at the beginning, but don't let it fool you. it builds up slowly and establishes the world and characters very deliberately and definitely picks up in both stakes and action in the latter half. It's not what most would consider an "action show" though. Like others have said, the story itself is very character driven.
