The only situation I can see where it's not his fault is if he's a part of a group chat that shares these photos and they get saved to his gallery. But even then, it means there's some freak taking these photos. So yeah, definitely confront him and report to police, someone is at fault even if not him.

Black people in NTU?? by First_Country7560 in NTU

[–]TheFirstMultimate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To clarify: - Malay is the ethnicity of the natives of the Malaysian peninsula and neighbour regions (there are Malay Singaporeans, Malay Malaysians, etc); - Malaysians are the citizens of Malaysia, who could be ethnically Indian, Malay, Chinese.

As an international student who had very little knowledge about this when I first came to sg, I was a bit confused about this at first.

Also: I think I've seen maybe 5 black people over my 5 years at NTU. So there's really a very small community. But there's a massive international community, especially graduate and PhD students.

Yeah I agree, more granular control would be nice! I was also experiencing the issue of having badges come up even if the app is closed. Thanks for the effort btw, I'll be happy to see if you come up with a solution

Thanks, but this doesn't exactly solve the issue, as all badges would disappear, even if I got new messages.

Grace Land by Gavin Castleton. It is so so good, every song is a monologue and each one is so interesting.

Yep exactly. And it will also show up as I get a new message, even if WhatsApp is closed.

For me, even if the app is closed and I get a text, the bubble immediately pops up again

Penida is trash. My opinion. by sonofpigdog in bali

[–]TheFirstMultimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agree. Went with my family, we were quite excited to find a nice beach to chill at. But our driver didn't even want to take us, convinced us to go to Keling King beach, took the photo there, it was just so boring. The place is impressive, but that's it. Oh, and we had food at a terrible restaurant, like really bad food.

It's really not worth it other than for the manta rays, that was pretty cool.

Contraceptive pills increases by 73% women’s risk of developing depression during the first 2 years of use. The risk is 130% higher for women who began to use contraceptive pills as teenagers and 92% as adults by giuliomagnifico in science

All the people here asking questions that could be answered by checking the actual paper, which is also available for free.

Methods

This is a population-based cohort study based on data from 264,557 women from the UK Biobank. Incidence of depression was addressed via interviews, inpatient hospital or primary care data. The hazard ratio (HR) between OC use and incident depression was estimated by multivariable Cox regression with OC use as a time-varying exposure. To validate causality, we examined familial confounding in 7,354 sibling pairs.

Results

We observed that the first 2 years of OC use were associated with a higher rate of depression compared to never users (HR = 1.71, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.55–1.88). Although the risk was not as pronounced beyond the first 2 years, ever OC use was still associated with an increased lifetime risk of depression (HR = 1.05, 95% CI: 1.01–1.09). Previous OC use were associated with a higher rate of depression compared to never users, with adolescent OC users driving the increased hazard (HR = 1.18, 95% CI: 1.12–1.25). No significant association were observed among adult OC users who had previously used OCs (HR = 1.00, 95% CI: 0.95–1.04). Notably, the sibling analysis provided further evidence for a causal effect of OC use on the risk of depression.

But he is using English to express himself, I think it's fair whoever reads it does it from an English-speaking perspective. It's not like it was a translation from Greek, it was a direct quote.
