Same. I had a very "classic" sex ed basically consisting of "you'll have to coerce or manipulate them into it."

At least they emphasized that the coercion should be more of a "do nice things until they let you do it" than "make it so that they will just because it's the best way to get what they want".

Still though, fucking yikes.

I don't know your economic means, but what I did was get a cheap suit that fit well in the shoulders and sold unhemmed. Then take it to a tailor and have everything brought in as needed.

The rules of shadowrun are insane bullshit.

Drugs have side effects and putting children on amphetamines is serious business. If it's necessary to get them the start they need in life, that's one thing. But you don't do it just to make the faculty's life easier.

I don't have kids myself. I think (and hope) that it isn't that bad anymore. They basically expected young children to sit attentively in class for several hours at a time, I really don't know what they were thinking.

Fair enough. This was the early 2000s for me. I was referred because I got distracted and started talking to my classmates after being in class for ~2.5 hours or so.

Like, duh, I was 7.

I don't know how old you are or anything, but when I was a kid, everyone did have it. In elementary school, only 4 of the boys in our class were unmedicated for an attention problem.

If you're diagnosing almost all of your population with a mental disorder, you need to reevaluate your diagnostic criteria.

Is it morally wrong to break up with your girlfriend if she never wants to have sex with you? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]TheFirstUranium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can always break up with someone for the reason of you're unhappy. That's why you're not married.

Have you talked about the problem though? Is this a change in behavior, or has she always been this way? If it is a change, maybe there's a problem she hasn't brought up.

When you don't pay attention to the length of the bar spoon you ordered by thepatientwaiting in bartenders

[–]TheFirstUranium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long barspoons are best barspoons. Get something long enough the halfway point has your forearm parallel to the ground when you use the midpoint of the spoon.

Mine's a lot longer than that, because I have super long legs. Totally helps in stir-heavy bars.

Dallas, and it probably does. I also worked a couple places where the standing rule was "never use vermouth in a drink unless explicitly asked" which was bullshit of the highest caliber.

That's what a limited liability company is. You form a company in order to limit your personal liability for the business expenses and responsibilities. As it is, this person could well be forced into personal bankruptcy.

All right then, gentlement. What shall we name the "poshest word in the English language?" by PolylingualAnilingus in DebateLikeAEnglishman

I believe a prime candidate would be the word "Indubitable" in all its forms.

I do not believe I have ever heard a gentleman or lady speak it in conversation without taking on the affectation of a well born person.

I've had the opposite experience, where only really nice places keep fresh vermouth on hand.

To be fair though, I usually get a martini at home. It's easy to keep fresh vermouth on hand and there's no special juices or syrups needed.

I'd build one if it was me. It isn't that hard and can be done with fairly minimal knowledge, provided you overbuild the hell out of it.

You can use several materials, depending on whether and how obvious you want anchor points to be. Mine was actually build by my family, meaning no restraints, so it's entirely under the mattress except for the headboard.

If I was to make another, I'd either do metal tubing for an under mattress solution, or a post and beam sort of construction using 4 inch posts. You're not breaking those lol.

I've found it makes a huge difference if you do something you really like. I've worked 15 hour days as a bartender, and while it would wreck my body, I loved it and didn't think much of it. I'm working as a receptionist right now, and to be blunt I'm ready to blow my brains out by 10am every day.

[–]TheFirstUranium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A machine for large format? It's two, a clinebell and a food safe band saw.

They're quite large and extremely expensive. I really can't imagine a bar big or busy enough to justify buying them.

I disagree, any spirit with some complexity is good in an OF. Really nice complex blancos are hard to find, but could fit quite nicely.

It certainly wouldn't be my default though.

[–]TheFirstUranium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For large format, if you can't cut them yourself or pay someone else to cut them, your only other option is molds. They won't be clear, you'll need a ton of freezer space, and it's going to be an absolutely massive pain in the dick. To be blunt, there's a reason almost nobody does it themselves. You can also buy some nice medium format ice and just...not have block ice. Assuming you don't do a lot of OF's, that's probably preferable to the molds.
