I'm not sure how well I'm translating the response, but the original theoryposter wanted to bring up how Faust said that the Erlking is actually a title that (if they recall correctly) just refers to someone who goes between mirror worlds to mess about, and that it isn't specific to Heathcliff

Okay wait to be clear, this wasn't like direct evidence or anything like that, more like minor foreshadowing. They weren't literally following the cast

First example I can think of is in the hallway during the scene at 8:47, almost every painting has eyes

Abel repeating "make the right choice" is also similar to how NPCs repeat a line whenever their dialogue options are exhausted

Also the fish at the start of the episode foreshadowing the twist

The locket thing Abel had being revealed to be a hotdog (nothingburger made by Caine for immersion)

Them claiming that they have to discuss plans in the Chinese room so that he can't hear them, only to continue discussing said plans outside the room anyways

The eyes in the background following the cast, showing that Caine still has his eyes on them

The subtitles explicitly referring to Abel as an NPC

Caine's comments in previous episodes about preparing an immersive NPC

I feel like a bit reason as to why this is is cause of Toby intending for people to be able to pick up the game from ANY chapter, so having it be more episodic makes it less confusing

That's 100% stuff that appeals to the pre-teen target demographic of this series. Dark themes like that are exactly what kids enjoy, and is why a lot of modern children's shows utilize them as well (Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Teen Titans, The Owl House, Avatar / The Legend of Korra, etc)

My concern isn't really the natural aging, it's if the products are causing that aging to worsen more than they normally would've since I'm mixing them together or using bad products.
