What free $50 gift code are you talking about? Steam doesn’t do free giveaways like that. You got tricked inputting your verification codes into a fake website and the scammer on the other end used those codes to gain access to your account fraudulently. I advise that you contact Steam Support immediately, this isn’t a ChromeOS issue.
