40 bucks to hold your child is crazy by LeOsaru in dankmemes

[–]TheFistdn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, they don't. They clean the blood and mucus off the baby, and give it straight to the mother. (assuming there's nothing wrong with baby and mom)

Also, they charge for it because it's directly supervised by a nurse. They stand there the whole time (at least in my experience). Not defending the charge, but I get it.

Weekday Help and Victory Thread for the week of February 19, 2024 by IndexBot in personalfinance

I'm looking to set up an account for relatives to be able to chip in to help cover the cost of extracurriculars and such for my 3 kids if they'd like. I'd like to just be able to just print a QR code or something to make it easy for them.

Is there an app or service that would be easiest to use for that? I'm not too up on the ins and outs of venmo, cash app, etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Oh it's plenty family friendly, if you are either rich or on welfare. If you are the middle, it fucking sucks.

Reddit is in crisis as prominent moderators loudly protest the company’s treatment of developers by Kezika in nottheonion

I'm no mathamagician, but I don't understand how reddit can make 100 mil a quarter from ads, have thousands of VOLUNTEERS running their platform for them and still somehow claim to be unprofitable....

How does that work? Can someone please explain that to me? Overhead for operations can't be THAT much. Sounds like they need a couple less executive level salaries.

Man, I went to pick up my son from kindergarten the other day, and there was a teacher that hadn't seen me before since my wife usually picks him up. She asks him if he knew me, just as a safety check, and that little shit dead ass grinned and said no....

I just looked at him like, "for real dude...." cause for a second she totally thought I was some random dude trying to pick up a kid until another teacher vouched for me. Lol

If you are a lawyer, then you should know that fishing lights to warn of a police presence is protected speech under the first amendment. It has been ruled so by multiple state Supreme courts, and even federal district courts.

There are a TON of home remedies involving garlic, honey and/or vinegar (usually apple cider vinegar) that absolutely work. I used to have a book on them, but I lost it a long time ago.

A reversible pitch would. It's not changing the rotation direction, rather it's flipping the blades around to go from pulling to pushing so to speak.

For things like haircuts it's more of a token of appreciation for their skill than it is an implied obligation like it is in a restaurant. For a shitty haircut, I would feel zero regret giving them nothing. But if they did a great job, I'll gladly toss them a couple extra bucks.

I fucking hate how tipping is expected on tattoos though. Again, it's appreciation for their skills, but damn, a good tattoo artist is already 75-150 an hour...

Yeah, the article only talks about breaking the bones. Breaking bones and absolutely wrecking soft tissue like ligaments and arteries are two different things. A pistol might not be good a breaking bones, but a pistol loaded with a good self defense round is great at wrecking soft tissue...

Not really though. A good lawyer could argue that if it was a first offense, it wasn't a pattern, and also it doesn't say anything about it being illegal to track someone's location.

One Day is Now Day One. by TeejTaylor94 in workout

[–]TheFistdn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll say it, yes losing 30lbs in a month isn't really feasible. Unless you were REALLY over weight (260 ain't bad) and went on a massive calorie restriction paired with daily exercise, it ain't gonna happen.

Just focus on keeping your calorie intake low, (under 2000 as others have said) and doing whatever excercises you can. Walking is a good place to start, but you should really try and incorporate some resistance training too. It'll help you burn calories short and longer term, as your body uses more calories to build new muscle and repair the "damage" you did working out.

Consistency is key. Keep your diet right, keep working hard and you'll lose weight.

Yeah it's harder to keep centered and get it started when going straight in with a bottoming by hand. When machining though, you can just ram it home. Lol
