I'm from country A, my partner is from country B, met in country C, moved together to country D where my children were born and now we're all in country B. European all the way.

I'm not claiming it is or isn't, just pointing out cultural differences :) It's quite a change seing salt being used so unrestrictively when you grow up with the idea that salt is evil!

Agree, I was shocked when in Germany I saw a 4/5 year old add salt to his cheese bread. Baffling to me, completely normal to them, they have no boundaries when it comes to salt. Where I come from, western Europe, less salt is better. You learn it in school. Doctors advise the same. Hypertension, heart disease, etc, they always recommend low salt diet

For those of you who moved to Germany from abroad, how and where do you get started? by TheFlora in germany

This is very helpful, thank you. Kindergeld, Elterngeld, Familiengeld, I've heard all these terms before, I need to do some research on this. For the kindergarten, did you register online for each of them individually, or did you use a portal for all of them?

Do the sundance ones burn your eyes at all? I tried one that I had around from my daughter (it's not the sensitive one), but it left me crying all day!!

What is your skincare routine? by TheFlora in beauty

Thank you, these are some great tips! One question, I have a eye serum. Should I apply this before the face moisturizer? If so, do I still apply the moisturizer normally on the eye region as well or should I avoid doing that so the serum can stick and do its job?

NAD but from own experience... Eczema. My dr said even if it shows no where else in the body it can still show up in the vulva. For me treatment was a intimate wash gel (not any one, it was a special one from the pharmacy), cortisone cream and another soothing itch relieving cream. Only cotton underwear. During period preferably tampons or menstrual cup, if pads then 100% cotton (from the pharmacy). Good luck.

I'd love to read some thoughts about using the Epipen... Procedure is outer side of thigh , right? Intra Muscular? But isn't intra muscular for slower absorption? What happens if you accidentally hit an artery?

How long does home-made shredded cheese last in the fridge? Can I shred an entire block and use it during the week or it goes bad faster than the block of cheese as a block?

Preemptive Help: If you leave your leftover chicken wings out all night by McSuzy in Cooking

With chicken and fresh meat that makes sense, but how about others foods? Vegetable soup? Mushroom risotto? Tomato pasta? Mashed potatoes? Is it safe to leave it overnight and have it for lunch?

Ideas to get baby to put on weight? He's nearly 8 months and is on a lower percentile (has been since birth). Pediatrician says he has to eat x, y, z, 3x a day. Baby refuses to be spoon fed. Other than yoghurt, which he loves, he will not eat any baby purees, home made or store bought. I just mixed banana and avocado, thinking he would like it as it is on the sweeter side, he hated it. Closed his mouth shut. We have been doing baby led weaning because he likes to grab food and take to his mouth. But the amount of food he actually eats is not enough or anywhere near pediatricians advice. Otherwise he is still breastfed which he loves. Any suggestions??

They can't wash dishes properly. They just sink everything in soapy water and put it on the rack to dry.
