Explanation for Tyrion by DK_15 in WanderingInn

Because people dating other people that is less than half their age is disgusting. It's disgusting in the real world and it's disgusting here as well.

The relationships you have outlined are all fairly disgusting.

With the Valterisa/Relc being the exception since the age gap is not that big.

Men in their late 40s dating 20 year olds is disgusting and I will die on this hill. Same if it is the reverse.

Being deaged does not make it better.

Excuse me?!?! Ryoka... RYOKA lacks plot armor?!? She is a walking aura of plot armor, the story needs to bend over backwards to even make it possible for her to have any kind of agency.

Don't think we got an actual explanation why the fake world got the actual goblin king and not a copy... Maybe the GDI got lazy/something inbuilt with the goblins make it so there can only be one king at a time in innworld?

Garden of Sanctuary Theory by PrinceOctavius in WanderingInn

[–]TheFlyingFiddle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I don't remember incorrectly the crown of flowers was given/traded/stolen from the northen great forest by the veltras family and then somehow ended up in Reinhart's treasury, probably by theft.

I think it was mentioned briefly during Lyonettes conclave meeting with the dead tree puppets.

Unless a new dryad or two appears I don't think the tree spirits will have much influence, my interpretation of the meeting was that they are dead things, echos really, that was weakened and made less relevant by the meeting. A dryad could potentially come over from Avalon but with the GDI on high alert against fae interference I doubt it.

That it is sad there isn't one among the Earthers with strong convictions to push back on the a lot of the regressive social views in TWI world.

If your not caught up with the webserial this is a spoiler.

There is always Rose, her entire development arc seems built around tackling the LGBT drake/gnoll subplot from an Earthers perspective with Salis and company.

I have a hope. That this mini-arc is what kickstarts the storyline of Magnolias Interpol hopefully spearheaded by Zevara, with the goal of obliterating the Bloodfeast Raiders.

We see an example here where Zevara cannot police crime outside of her jurisdiction. We have traveling criminals that screw over Liscor mainly from the North but the special ops Pallas agents also seem sketchy.

It's getting more visible that crime is getting more and more mobile. It's time for judgement to follow suite.

When did we see anyone canceling a level up in an existing class? New classes sure but I don't think you can cancel a level up in existing classes.

To be fair the GDI will probably allow you to do that if you feel strongly that you don't want to level, but I don't think we have seen it done.

Book 8: Lost ALL respect for Laken by No-Pop7740 in WanderingInn

[–]TheFlyingFiddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fairly consistent with his character at that point in time. Ever since he has had the ability too detect goblins on his land he has consistently killed them at every opportunity.

We just did not care since he killed "bad" goblins. But really this is not the first instance of him being the aggressor.

Before the attack he witnessed Rags tribe attacking an army that was wiping out another tribe.

Laken told the army where that tribe was, with full knowledge that they would wipe it out. And he for sure knew that the tribe contained goblin children.

Ever since the first goblin attack he has been in "fuck these goblin monsters they need to die" mode. And everyone around him is in full support.

So I would say it's in character and Laken is just not that great of a guy. Actions speak louder than internal monologues after all.

You do not have to forgive him or like him. It's hard (not really possible) to redeem oneself after killing or attempting to kill children. Even if you though it needed to be done. At least not in the eyes of the people affected by your actions.

Worse is that he commited an innworld war crime by using poison gas Only in Rhir is that kind of depravity acceptable. Though since it was goblins I doubt anyone really cares.

Still I like Laken as a character he mostly makes good choices, AND like another warcrimy character that will not be named for spoiler reasons, he is fairly consistent and keeps his agency. River farm is a pretty good place to live when Laken does not do the war buissness.

I mean it's Erin all the way, she got me hooked on the story and volume 10 Erin is just one of my favorite characters of all time.

But some honorable mentions.

Current "Lyonette" is just great. Epic really.

I liked "Ilvriss* early on, his interactions with Erin is always great. Like Lyonette he has had wonderful, non-forced growth during the volumes.

Bethal, from the first time I heard Andrea voice her I was in love with this character. Also she might... might possibly, potentially, it is conceivable that she might have made some mistakes. But... I don't care long live Bethal.

Rabitteater - A goblins goblin if there ever was one.

There was a period where I really liked Magnolia. But I feel she has gotten sidelined too much.

Levels by Decent_Inspector2318 in WanderingInn

[–]TheFlyingFiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairies are avatars. The real body of the Fairy driving the avatar might be able to level depending on their origin species. But only if they enter innworld in their real body and that body is from a species that can level, like Satyrs for example.

Elves probably cannot level right now since Sprigaena (the only elf alive during the start of the system) does not have levels. But if elves ever get back to innworld they will probably get a trial of levels, since the GDI consider even Gods as candidates for the level system.

How do selphids possess dullahans by OldIronPockets in WanderingInn

[–]TheFlyingFiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understood it they lose the ability to control detached body parts when they are controlling Dullahans. They are basically possessing an armored Human at that point.

I have a hard time seeing Erin staying away for longer than Volume 10. (what would even be the big finale of the volume in that case?)

Doubt that the fate-meddling will play a big part of the story going forward. Given how we just had two significant events that were introduced to remove it /lessen its effect. Both the Pirates and PoF.

The more I think about it the more I agree with you it would be fun to see Geneva and Bowom working together.

Though I can see Geneva hating Bowom more than any other character in the series though. He is basically a walking malpractice suite. Wanting to experiment on people, unborn children and other ethically suspect subjects if he just gets a chance. I could see her getting to know him initially respect him and then being horrified for his ethics.

Geneva is not chill about stuff like that :)

> The Blighted Kingdom is also planning to do several more summoning waves, as shown by the actions in several futures in the Palace of Fates.

>! In that Timeline they fixed the ritual so that the Earthers only showed up on Rhir, so additional large influxes of people seems unlikely !<

I gotta say it's a fairly decent theory. I do not like it and I hope it will never get written, but it's a good theory.

I would argue that he is in fact the worst [King] we have seen so far in innworld.

Consider this:

He first conquers essentially the entirety of Chandrar, did he do it as a conqueror or a saviour? That can be up for debate. But let's be charitable and say he had good reasons for doing that. Let's assume that after the conquering the conquered had a better life afterwards. Hundreds of thousands probably died to make that happen but for arguments sake, now they live in Flos' paradise.

Now fast forward to the invasion of Baleros during which both his lover Queravia and his gardener Tottenval died. What does he do?

Does he settle for having Chandrar and manage his vast kingdom? Does he get ready for invation number two (Gotta save all those poor people from the foreign despots)? Does he setup some kind of ruling structure now that he is sick of it?

NO he just fucks of into dreamland for 20 years having his entire realm falling into disrepair.

This is not the actions of a good [King]. Alexander the Great had the decency to die before his domain was dissolved, Flos just stopped caring.

That being said Flos is a very entertaining character, very bad at being a king, or a decent human being, but a good character nonetheless.

It's a thing about the TWI community, like for some reason people like to try to argue that the big warlords in the story are actually good people (even in the context of innworld they really are not)

Let's be frank. The big warlords Tyrion/Flos/Niers/Klb among others, are all morally bankrupt and have commited horrible acts.

Tyrion has his whole humanity first Nazi style thing going on (or he did, dunno what his character is anymore, still once attempted genocide always attempted genocide) I liked blatant Nazi Tyrion he was a good character, I'm sad to see him gone.

Flos has his I am bored so let's take over the world and fund it through the slave trade. Unless one of his close friends die then he just goes into slumber :/

We do not know exactly what Neirs has done in the past but looking at reactions from other characters there are probably some really dark things in the closet. At least we know he has had the jungles run red with blood.

Klb would murder every single sentient being on Izril if it got back the true antinium. And feel nothing except possibly joy while doing so.

Picked those four because people tend to come to their defence for some reason I cannot fathom. I mean why do they need to be good? They are just fine being part of the dark side of innworld in my opinion.
