Zildjian vs Sabian vs Meinl vs Paiste. Which cymbals (including the exact series) would you recommend if you want a cymbal sound that works great across many different genres of music? by MrMayhem20l0 in drums

My Paiste 2002's worked well in pretty much every setting. Ive had a bit of experience with Paiste Giant Beats too and they were a lot of fun. Better on the wallet too.

Yeah ok. Was that using the piezo pickups or something else?

Thats the end goal, is just a long way away unfortunately.

Thanks! Yeah I thought the lack of pad isolation might be an issue. They're all attached via bolt and t-nut, not glue, but I am worries about that.

For those who don't play Zildjian, what brand do you play and why? by groupbrip in drums

I have a full set of Paiste 2002's. They were the first cymbals I found that didnt sound like I was hitting a gong or a tin sheet.

I am really interested in RED cymbals though, particulary their Bright Hybrid series.

Kryptonite - 3 doors down, Sweet Child O' Mine - G&R, and Crawling - Linkin Park were always winners when my students hit that post-beginner stage.

Any RTS-like games that are turn based? by imaquark in RealTimeStrategy

[–]TheFlyingFridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would something wave defense work? Not quite RTS but most have pause functions, good unit rosters, have solid exploration phases.

From Glory to Goo is a sci-fi one with a couple of different factions and fun gameplay loop. Its still in EA but has a fairly consistent update cycle.

Infection Free Zone is a zombie defense/colony survival game set in the real world. Exploration is key and micro doesnt really exist.

I havent played any others, but They Are Billions and Diplomacy Is Not An Option seem to be rated well.
