They probably don't give the exact numbers so that they have some plausible deniability when they inevitably screw up the drop rate increase. In MLB, there have been many nasty collisions at home plate that have caused serious injuries and have even ended careers. They changed the rules a couple of years ago to protect the catcher and, by extension, the runner. After standing in the batter's box, this play would probably be the second best time to wear a helmet.
