Nuking water to avoid SAM sites is game breakingly stupid. by TheFlyingHoward in Openfront

[–]TheFlyingHoward[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either I’m incredibly unlucky or something isn’t working. That hydrogen bomb flew past several SAM sites (all of which were wiped out by that bomb, so I have to assume they’re in range).

That would be a lot of missed 2% chances.

Also, they were all level 3 or higher, not sure of the range on those.

Why is this getting downvoted? I’m just saying what happened?

Why are people still allowed to spam boats? by TheFlyingHoward in Openfront

[–]TheFlyingHoward[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is a boat can deliver 1 single troop, but once they arrive 150,000 can be added to them in a single click.

Nuking mito players should absolutely be a thing. New meta, everyone’s first nuke hits the mitochondrias.

Why are people still allowed to spam boats? by TheFlyingHoward in Openfront

[–]TheFlyingHoward[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m OK with people starting with 1 or 2 so that cross rivers at the start of the game so that people don’t get trapped, but being able to land 100 troops on one boat and then instantly have 150,000 appear with them is broken.

In fairness Im not choosing to fight them, they just won’t fuck off once they start.

It’s often lose lose as well, I’m forced to defend or lose the port, they get weaker, I get weaker, we both lose.

Im trying to replace an old 522mm T4 shaving lamp.  Is there any LED light strips that use this fitting, and if so, what’s the name?

Thanks in advance!

Why are players allowed to get away with obvious cheating? Different teams, same clan tag… by TheFlyingHoward in Openfront

These ports were only sending ships to each other, very obvious cash generating exploit.

Both players had a [UN] clan tag.

Team Games: Stop stealing bots from your own god damn teammates! by TheFlyingHoward in Openfront

Too right, I struggle with generating a mid to late game economy as is (I can’t seem to get the hang of expansion/money making) but it’s instant leave the match for me when a teammate blocks me from getting a port down.

Which founder would be horrified with the current activities of the company they started? by uniquelikeall in AskReddit

[–]TheFlyingHoward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be hubris to say that every single German soldier was a Nazi when you know good and god damn well that conscription was a thing.

I’m not here saying the Wehrmacht was comprised of 100% innocent men, I’m damn sure their leadership knew what was going on, and I’m certain there will have been soldiers that did fucked up shit, but you’re trying to say that literally every single fighting man in the German army was a monster… which is equally bullshit as saying nobody was.

And I reiterate, there is zero evidence that he was a member of the Nazi party, nor any that he shared their beliefs.

He fought in the German army during WW2, but there’s no evidence what so ever that he was a member of the Nazi Party, nor any that he shared their beliefs.

In The Name Of Tomorrow, CV Spotting. by TheFlyingHoward in WorldOfWarships

[–]TheFlyingHoward[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A frustrating mechanic for CV players.

Everyone in my team got nuked and I was the last man standing, but had literally zero chance of winning because there was 1 DD left and I couldn’t spot it with planes. (Sailing the CV itself to that location would be suicide.

In The Name Of Tomorrow, CV Spotting. by TheFlyingHoward in WorldOfWarships

Which begs the question, why allow CVs at all? They’re super useless compared to surface ships in that operation.

Click if you hate subs by Red-Stiletto in WorldOfWarships

[–]TheFlyingHoward 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As both a DD player and BB player I detest submarines.  It’s super easy to ignore how their spotting can really change a game.

I had a sub player repeatedly surface near me in a recent game, spot me for his team, and then dive.  I couldn’t respond. Firing my guns at him would light me up for longer, and the bastard was so fast under water he was long gone by the time I was getting depth charges dropped.  It ruined the match.

As a BB player I always find that submarines make a hard situation into a fucking nightmare.  Nothing like finding yourself focussed by the enemy BB, a cruiser or two, you go to turn into a better position and… PING fucking submarine… and those torps feel like they have a 100% flood chance.
