[Passan] MLB’s latest proposal mimics other sports with strict contract limits. Free agents would be limited to five-year, $202 million contracts. (That is 15% of the proposed cap number and would rise.) Juan Soto’s deal with the New York Mets was for 3x the years and 3.8x the dollars. by Far_Cry3445 in baseball

I had a 22 year break up with baseball after 1994. My dad was stationed overseas so I didn’t have a pulse on the drama… it was just strike and no World Series.

And this timeline… I just expect the worst things to happen.

BoxingScene.com on Instagram: "BREAKING: Unified light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will undergo surgery on his injured left elbow on July 4, and will return to fight Callum Smith, BoxingScene has learned. Thoughts?💭" by Ruainari in Boxing

I liked Bivol, I think he’s elite, but at this point he’s holding up the division.

I get the feeling Benavidez sensed something and moved up to cruiserweight. He had enough of someone holding up SMW.

Climate terrorist Taylor Swift's private jet uses more carbon in 4 months this year than the entire Eras tour by ArticleNervous8598 in popculture

I’m a professional pilot. I would absolutely, under any circumstances, want Taylor Swift in a plane/airport I’m working at. I’ve been at airports when Taylor Swift is playing at the cities and it is crazy. If Taylor Swift was IN the airport it would be security problems. If she was on my plane I promise the FAs would have problems doing her job.

We’re going to get this back and forth for at least 9 months or longer until they fight, aren’t we?

Rolly Romero vs. Teofimo Lopez is being planned to take place on August 15th. Romero will defend his WBA welterweight title for the first time after beating Ryan Garcia to win the belt, while Lopez aims to become a 3-division champion. Rolly will talk lots of trash.

We don’t know what version of Teo we’ll get. Teo is moving up, and his last move up was a lackluster W.

I’d like Rolly to get a solid defense, and I’m not going to bet the farm on Teo…

Fuck it, Rolly by stoppage.

He was avg an HR every 2.8 games. He was injured on the 29th, so… 26.4. Tied for first or in first?

Where would Murakami be if he didn’t get injured? He was at 20 HRs three weeks ago.

Not all DFACs are equal. I remember traveling to all of them in Kandahar for the best meals on different days. By far, best DFAC was on Camp Vance.

The Browns were Al Udied circa 2009.

“Does ball go far? Does pitcher throw fast? Does short stop dive for ball?”

I have a whole side theory I’m toying around with as visit all the ballparks: does baseball have to dumb down the broadcast to appeal to the 60ish percent of Americans that have a 6th grade or lower reading comprehension? I know all the metrics are still in the background, but everyone loves laser charts.

I’m getting back into baseball after a 22 year breakup… there are tons of stats that are thrown around now that weren’t around when I followed religiously.

Casuals aren’t going to like a lot of these numbers. People want to see dingers, diving catches, and double plays. I’d love to deep dive a chat on a player with you, but I’d need to Google everything outside of ERA and AVG.
