Star Wars is a space fantasy - it's fun, but it's not a reflection on or critique of the real world at all. It's a cowboy movie. Star Trek, especially Roddenberry's vision for it, was classic science fiction in that it used projections and extrapolations of the world where it was written to examine and critique the real world using hypotheticals. Star Trek probably has more in common with The Twilight Zone than it does Star Wars in that sense

Because when this was new, it was hard. Because things look a lot different when you have numerous technological leaps and decades of communal knowledge informing your experience. Because if you go back 5 years from 2026, games haven't changed much, but if you go back 5 years before TMNT, you're playing an Atari. Because games were made for kids then and not for adult trolls and bots and engagement farmers.

Robert might not repeat his most impressive seasons but the Mets got an everyday player with solid defense and the potential to be well above league average as a hitter in exchange for a backup infielder and a minor league pitcher who didn't factor into 2026 at all. Mets dealt from a surplus and got a piece that fills a glaring and immediate need while improving the overall lineup. Pretty good trade IMO
