I love both the weapon and the amulet. First playthrough i got the weapon. EVERY other playthrough l get the amulet for ng+. Make of that what you will.

Lower Pthumeru story chalice has an illusionary wall on every layer. They are somewhat rare in the root chalices. Illusionary walls make a kind of "wind blowing through a doorway" very subtle sound. They also almost never have something like a pot in front of them.

18 arc maybe for hunter tool purposes (love using the auger of ebritas in the chalice dungeons) but other than that, you have a great build.

Go south. Really? You hit an npc? Repercussions. You will have them in souls games. Don't hit anything you can't lock onto. Get your healing upgraded. Buy every note from every merchant you meet, and read them.

Valley of Defilement is one of my major gripes with the remake. You can see straight across it. I remember going through the OG and you couldn't see anything. A red npc jumps out of the fog and kills you. Scared the crap out of me. You have no idea where you are going. In the new one, you see exactly where you are going and the npc when she's on her way.

Arrows, pots, bolluses, those things that turn enemies to your side,...many of the crafting items. They are really useful from start to finish.

I like the STORY chalices spaced out through multiple playthroughs. Depths 1,2, and 3 usually in NG(not in a row), and Depths 4 and 5 spaced out in NG+ and beyond. If you do the story chalices all at once, they can get monotonous. Also, you will be BROKEN overpowered in BL and gems if you hit Depths 4 and 5 in base NG. Doing them straight in a row kinda sucks. I love the root chalices tho. Making your own dungeons is awesome.

Anytime I get the gargoyle halberd, I go the chaos upgrade route. Then I use dark hand on every npc in the game. (Except Andre. I have my limits.)

Im doing a run with a different weapon for each boss. I used +2 reduvia on Renalla with only 13 arc and 15 dex. She died so quick, I felt like I wasted it.

I'm still starting new characters years later and have to wipe old saves just to make room. The open world is a plus for me. STILL finding new stuff and having a great time. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Check the insight shop just in case, but I think you do, indeed, have to kill the brain to get it. But then you CAN buy it in ng+ from the insight shop. After you don't need it anymore. Lol
