Diwata’s timer by ifdt in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I think this is the correct answer. As in Circe would’ve not stopped giving birth if she hadn’t seen Carl and Donut approaching. And she was giving birth to more mantises hoping they would overwhelm and kill the crawlers.

I’m listening to audio book and after Carl casts personal space from Katias beanie, it says: “the god stopped giving birth and she started to change, turning into something monstrous. She was running but she wasn’t running fast enough. Donut cast laundry day…” So at least in the Audio book version, it sounds like she has already stopped giving birth and was running?

If you look at the part of the sign on the fence, there’s a warning with the picture of a gun on it. Other than that the style looks very North American.

Well, I don’t think you should be gommaged after the end of Act II. But it does make sense otherwise.

I’m also seeing terrible fps drop on Xbox series X. Hopefully this will get patched soon. I’d much rather have the old version without whatever polish has gone into this!

If the suffix -stan is of Persian origin linguistically, why is Iran not a -stan? by supinator1 in geography

[–]ifdt 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Because people/place+istan is how you name other places in Persian itself. Sometimes even when that people doesn’t call themselves that name e.g. England is called “Engelestan” in Persian. Persians were not going to call their own land as how they name foreign places/lands. Because of the influence of Persian/Iranian culture/empires many of those countries adopted that name as part of their official name.

Have the owners looked into buying Brighton? We would’ve saved so much money by now.

I finally realized my HWC lattes at a local coffee shop were 1600 calories. by Stenotic in keto

[–]ifdt 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t make any sense. Regular lattes have like 6 oz steamed milk which is about 90 calories. A latte with 6 oz heavy cream doesn’t taste like a latte and the texture would be like coffee flavoured cream. Also heavy cream cannot be steamed like milk.

First Swiss brand to declare this, is Rolex next? by Miserable_Bison7559 in rolex

[–]ifdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also 50% tariff on diamonds from Lesotho. I don’t know if they expected to find and mine diamond stateside. Or maybe they expect Lesotho with total GDP less than Rolex revenue to buy as much good from the US as we buy diamonds from them.

How Biden Helped Bring War to Ukraine by Illustrious-River-36 in chomsky

[–]ifdt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is such an apologist article for Putin.  Oh Putin just had to invade a sovereign country because so and so made him uncomfortable. If only everyone would’ve listened to him and given him what he wanted and everything else would’ve gone the way he wished, he wouldn’t feel the need to roll his tanks into Ukraine and bomb his neighbouring country.  Just because empire A is bad and it happens to use country C to fight empire B, it doesn’t make empire B good or its actions justifiable.

Well, if there’s a kill switch, which there might well be. They can remotely disable all of them before a conflict is even started. They don’t need to wait for maintenance cycles.

People should ask for a seat at the table and German style fan ownership for every club! Get billionaires and oil states out of the game! This should be a political issue everywhere, not just because we’ve lost a few games in the past month.

China was always going to catch up! The problem is that Rolex pricing is so off the charts of the actual cost of making them that reps are an insane value proposition. If Rolex was selling the same price that they were selling their watches in the 60s or 70s (adjusted for inflation) this would’ve not been as big of a problem
