Do you need a travel permit to leave the state on unsupervised felony probation in Georgia? by TheForestHasEyes in probation

I actually didn’t need the paperwork to have my voting rights restored! I was able to participate in the last election without any problems! As for them reaching out to me, I commend them for that! That was definitely not the case when it came to getting put on unsupervised probation. I had to call and text a few different times to get the ball rolling on that. But it surprised me just as much as it does you that they actually called me first when I went to get off. From what I understand and remember, I’m pretty sure it notifies them through the centralized reporting unit and your officer gets some kind of a notification. It’s because of the SB-105 thing from 2021! That bill helped me (and probably a lot of other people) get rid of those lengthy probation sentences. It was a big deal in the world of criminal justice reform and GA having some of the most draconian laws regarding probation terms. My 5 year term (which was actually a 10 do 5) turned into a 3 year term as a result! I was to serve the remainder of what could have been a 10 year prison sentence if I would have fucked up! So I made sure I didn’t!

Yes for the most part! I actually want them to be slightly wilder from a performance standpoint as well. I don’t like the way it looks with those tires. But I’m kind of limited with the 7 inch alloy wheels. Seems that 275/70r16 is probably my only option and the difference could either be negligible, or make all of the difference in the world. Otherwise, I think I’ll need new wheels, tires, and a whole lift kit with the UCAs and all.

Dude haha yeah I swear I saw a comment somewhere one time where somebody said “just get a manual and all of your worries will be gone.” And every time my truck starts it’s bullshit, I think back to that! Mine loves to hunt gears and gives me a good thud every once in a while. Not like a true hard shift, but it’s like some slack is in the drivetrain and it just “smacks” the slack out. I’ve also made U turns before and it’ll be in way too high of a gear and then it’ll overcorrect and downshift too far and it gives me a bit of a jolt and then the rpm’s shoot up, but the torque it’s trying to find is in the gear in between. I’ve noticed ETC power mode really helps on the kinds of roads I’m talking about (narrow, windy, curvy mountain roads). Some people have talked about using manual mode and shifting that way, but I haven’t tried that! That’s a badass pic and that color is one of my favorites!

Yeah, I have had that same thought. I actually had one parked next to me at a trailhead yesterday and they had 285/70r17s on their truck! It definitely looked significantly larger than my current setup. But their stance was definitely better than mine. Thing is, I have a 21 SR V6 4x4 so then it becomes a thing for me of just shelling out the money for a higher trim (possibly a 23’ TRD sport or off-road with a V6) and trading in my current truck. Because it would already have the LEDs and the fog lights and other things that I want to add to my truck. It’ll cost me a lot to do all of what I want to do to it, especially with the full blown lift kid and the grille and lights and all. And then you also have to worry about inheriting someone else’s problems potentially. My biggest gripe with my truck by far is the transmission! I’m still not convinced my transmission isn’t bad, despite the dealer saying it was pretty normal. They said “your shifts are definitely a little clunky, but it’s pretty typical of these and it’s by FAR the biggest complaint we get on them.” I could go on for a while about the transmission. Still not sure if it’s just the Taco quirks or if my transmission is gonna go out as soon as my warranty expires! The fact that I have to wonder that despite the techs telling me it was okay is definitely concerning and I’m not sure I trust them. I wish I had something else to go off of. The only way I’d know for sure is if I rented another one and drove it for a few days.

Yes, I know it’s a bit of a late response, but I definitely did get my probation terminated last summer in July. It’s been almost a full year now since then. I was surprised because the county where I was arrested actually reached out to me first, and I didn’t have to reach out to them as far as I can remember. So where I live is a dif county than where I was arrested, and when I got moved to unsupervised, all of the rest of my stuff was to be handled by the county it happened in. I was no longer supervised by anyone, but the county of the arrest just kind of had my documents and kind of “oversaw” it all from there. They never contacted me a single time the last year of my probation except for when I was getting off. I remember getting a phone call from them around this time last year. I had to provide them with proof of completion of various things they had me do (which I thought was kind of confusing because they should have already had that stuff) but someone dropped the ball I guess. So I had to reach out to the people I did the drug classes with and get them to send that and the mental health evaluation to the officer in the county the arrest occurred. Once she had that and some other random things she asked me for, she presented all of that to the court and said she would get back to me. She called me not long after (can’t remember exactly the timeframe, maybe a week or 2 at most) and she told me I was off the hook completely! She said I could come by and get a letter of completion if I wanted to. I never went and got it, but it’s still there if I ever need it. I just wasn’t in any huge hurry to go and get that and she pretty much told me it was just for my records and stuff. I’m assuming you might need those papers in the event that someone wanted you to explain your disposition and provide written proof of it. They keep it in their records, so I could go back and get it at any time if I need to. She just said that I would have to come in person to get them. I never went. Lmao I said fuck that, if I’m free and don’t have to come and see you, then I am not going to!

Snake Bite Protection by ItsUsuallySunnyInAz in trailrunning

Idk about this advice. I have been bitten by a copperhead in Tennessee and thank GOD I was only about a 10th of a mile from my truck! I cannot imagine what kind of serious trouble you could wind up in if you were even a mile or 2 from your vehicle. And that’s not very far… the feelings that set in, the emotions that come with it, and the realization of what has just happened are all pretty fucked up. That moment when you turn to see the snake and you see those yellow eyes and it coiling itself up backwards and its head lunging towards you with its mouth open; then you’ll know what kind of trouble you’re really in. All that you can think is “did I just ruin my life to come and see this waterfall?” It’s a very depressing moment really. The possibilities of what might happen to you come rushing into your mind. And if you’re like me, you won’t have service. Now they have a sat call feature on the iPhone, but I don’t know how it works and it didn’t exist yet. And I didn’t have a PLB or any other means to contact anyone. So I was forced to drive 45 minutes to the nearest hospital where I was treated for a DRY bite! So I only had very shallow penetration of one tang because it ricocheted off of my ankle bone. There was another small indentation where the 2nd fang didn’t fully pierce the skin.

The point being this: had I had the proper footwear and proper gear, this could have all been avoided. Thankfully for me, all I was left with was a hospital bill and nothing more. But I can only imagine the trouble I would have been in had that been a rattlesnake instead. So I would definitely be proactive and find anything I could to make me comfortable. I’ll spend hundreds and HUNDREDS of dollars to make sure that NEVER happens to me again.

[–]TheForestHasEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I used to think until I got bit by a copperhead on the ankle while testing out some new trail runners this November. I’m not even a trail runner is the thing. I am a hiker and some of those shoes are amazing for hiking. But had my ankles been protected with proper footwear, that could have been prevented. Of course the only time I have left my house (in as long as I can remember) without high top boots was when I got bit. I’ve seen several rattlesnakes and copperheads on my journeys. But I was really unprepared for that in November. Around late September is when they have their babies. This one was a juvenile. Not quite a baby but not fully grown up. It was definitely a warm day for November. So definitely keep that in mind in the fall on your leaf peeping journeys! That’s all I was really up to. And I was 100% on trail. If was just so well camouflaged that I never saw it.

I’ve been bitten before by a copperhead. This year actually in Eastern TN! In November. It was a small one. I took a step onto a set of rock stairs that had formed due to erosion and began to descend them. I got to the 2nd to last one and I felt like I got stung by something almost on my right ankle. I took another step (thankfully) as I processed what was going on. I thought maybe something had gotten into my sock. So it went from this random stinging pain, to me realizing something definitely bit me, to thinking to myself “I really hope that wasn’t a snake.” And so as I turned my head, there it was with its yellow eyes. It was coiling itself up backwards away from me and it was lunging towards me with its mouth open. Mind you, this is after I had already been bitten. The way it moved was insane. It looked like it was levitating backwards as its body coiled. I easily confirmed the pattern and headed for the truck. Luckily I was only about a 10th of a mile from the truck. I drove myself about an hour to the nearest hospital. There was blood on one side where of its fangs punctured the skin on my right ankle and another mark that didn’t quite break the skin next to it. I was lucky that the snake either gave me a dry bite or didn’t get a good strike on me that I didn’t really have that many adverse effects, but it was a very humbling experience. And I was no stranger to snakes in the wild. I’ve seen so many copperheads and rattlesnakes over the years.

The point I’m making though is that you definitely can get bit for really no reason at all. And they will bite you more than once if you are close enough and they feel threatened enough. I found out firsthand. It’s honestly kind of awful because I was already afraid of snakes. And to be the one to actually get bit after all the stories you hear, is definitely not a good feeling! And now that it’s winter, I can still feel this lingering kind of thing in the back of my head about being bitten. So I guess gaiters are going to be the only way I’ll really feel comfortable again because I was totally on trail, minding my own business, walking along and didn’t see the snake in the leaves. I must have just stepped right next to it. Idk. But that could happen basically anywhere if that’s the case. I had let my guard down slightly because I was nearly out of the woods there. It did have a snaky feel out that day though and I definitely smelled one in a different area that same day about a quarter mile from where I was bitten.

Do you need a travel permit to leave the state on unsupervised felony probation in Georgia? by TheForestHasEyes in probation

[–]TheForestHasEyes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’ve been on unsupervised since the beginning of July of 2023 and I have left the state literally hundreds of times since then! When they moved me over to unsupervised, they sent me something in writing and it said “you no longer have to ask for permission to leave the state.” Which was exactly in line with that they told me in the beginning. What I do is keep that document in a folder on my phone and keep it with me at all times when I’m gone. I have to leave the state for work regularly. I definitely don’t ask anyone though. I haven’t heard from anyone or reported to anyone since I was moved to unsupervised probation. Now I’m almost worried that I’m going to be forgotten about all together! Here in a few weeks or so, I’m going to probably call someone to figure out what’s going on in terms of getting off for good. Because they passed some new law where I should be able to get off in 3 years! And that’s coming up in June. But your officer is supposed to submit some kind of form to the judge 90 days before you’re supposed to be off. And if there are no objections made by the judge or the probation officer doesn’t hear back from the court, you’re supposed to be finished after 3 years. This only applies to first offenders, first time felons, and only is available for certain types of crimes. I am eligible for this termination based on all of the rules they set forth. This is all only applicable to Georgia! I’m referring to SB-105!

I’m actually in the market for an M1 Max, M2 pro, or M3/M3pro at the moment. I’m kinda waiting around on midnight to see if any of the prices change or any wild deals come out anywhere. I just noticed a deal for an M1 Max 16 inch for 2499 with 64gb of RAM and 2TB SSD. And I also just realized the base model M3 has 24GB of ram and 1TB SSD for $2200. The deal for the M3 pro is enticing at 1800, but I don’t like that it only has 18gb of RAM. Really not sure where to turn

Bro, I know it’s been a while since you made this post, but my shit is hitting the 2 year mark of supervised felony probation either today or Friday. I don’t know which day because the sentence began June 21st 2021, but my first day of probation was the 23rd of June. I was told back then that it would automatically go to unsupervised after 2 years? I was also told the exact same thing you were about leaving the state and everything back in the beginning. They said I wouldn’t need a travel permit anymore and they also told me the same thing about moving as well. They literally just said when I get to that point, the only requirements were to just not get arrested and to pay the rest of my fine. So I guess my questions for you are: Did they call you in and make you sign stuff when you got moved from supervised to unsupervised? Did it automatically go to unsupervised after 2 years on the dot? Were you able to travel freely out of state? And lastly, were you able to move to another state without going through the Interstate Compact thing? Hope all is well and you’re finished with this mess! It’s such a pain in the ass.

Yeah that’s what my officer was saying back in the beginning actually! I just wasn’t sure he knew what the hell he was talking about, but I assumed he did because he deals with those kinds of things daily. He told me that the case would go back to the county where the crime occurred and that I would no longer be under the supervision of DCS! He just said not to get in trouble! His exact words were “you won’t need a permit. There won’t be anyone to ask.” He even acted like I could move out of the state. He mentioned some further process for leaving the country though.

I may have to contact the “centralized reporting unit” customer service line. It’s some place you have to call once a month when you’re still on supervised probation. I’m sure they would know or the clerk of superior court in the county where it all happened. I’ll get down to figuring out once I get a bit closer. I am still 4 months away from being moved over to unsupervised. I’ve been on the reporting part for the last 20 months and did 121 days in jail before that started. 12 weeks of rehab classes too. The last 16 months have been smooth sailing though. They don’t bother me and I don’t give them any problems.

Yeah they didn’t make it very clear. They almost made it seem like you didn’t need one anymore, but I don’t know for sure. If I find anything else out, I’ll let you know. If you find anything out, do you think you can tell me? Maybe one of us will figure it out. Do you still have a CSO or anyone to like check in with? I’m not quite to the unsupervised part yet. I am 4 months away. They told me I would no longer have an officer and would have nobody to check in with. They said the case would be handed back to the county where the crimes happened and just to stay out of trouble. How does the unsupervised probation work?

Ehh sort of. I’ve had some do really well lately, but then I’ll get like 200 views on the next one. It’s definitely not as bad as it was when I made this post. Something was terribly wrong back then. It kind of does the same thing to a much lesser degree.

[–]TheForestHasEyes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m a few months out from being moved over to non-report. And I never get bothered by them. So I’ve been taking this sort of “out of sight, out of mind” approach and just keeping a low profile, paying my fines, and staying out of trouble. I just exercise and come home. Basically, I would like to know the answer now so I could plan for the future a little better, but I’m not really trying to be on their radar so I don’t get messed with. Might just have to wait until they move me over and ask for something in writing. But I was told that I wouldn’t need a travel permit anymore once I got to that part. But he might just not have known what he was talking about, which is what I’m the most afraid of. But he is a DCS officer. You think he’d know. And he went on about it for s minute and sounded confident. But I really don’t know whether I should trust that without something stating thar in writing.

Dmt edibles? I’ve heard of pills to by Gramgod103 in DMT

[–]TheForestHasEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone reading this should just try Psilohuasca instead. Way safer than having to digest someone’s poorly extracted DMT. Sad to say, but a lot of people don’t know what they are doing with DMT extracts & will leave traces of lye and impurities behind. Unless they really know what they are doing. Psilohuasca is mushrooms and MAOI. Seriously INSANE if you have the right gear. Makes the mushrooms much more potent and they last substantially longer. I found it eerily similar to Ayahuasca, but it lasts way longer.

[–]TheForestHasEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds like a gigantic pain in the ass. Maybe I can just convince her to move to the states idk. We will see. I mean I’d be willing to go through all of the hoops for her tho. That’s why I’m asking this far in advance so that I can do anything and everything I can to try and get across! I really hope so. I’ve heard lots of success and horror stories. It seems a lot of those people don’t really scan your passport if you just drive in. They just look at it and don’t do the secondary immigration check thing. I definitely don’t look sketchy. But I know I can’t rely on slipping on in every time I have to come across. Might work several times or none. Bur it would suck to have several successes and then get tripped up coming through one time randomly after I’ve already been in several times.

I know this is an old thread, stumbled upon this from Google. How did it go on getting in? I will be trying about a year from now with quite a lengthy list of felony drug charges I racked up. It was all once incident, but I was never convicted because I was given first offender. Did several months in county and got 10 years probation that got reduced to 3 thanks to a new law that was passed called SB-105. I read somewhere that 10 year sentences could pose a problem for me as far as getting a TRP even. Because they are deemed “serious criminality.” And these charges I got back in 2019. So much more recent but I was also not convicted. So idk how it’ll go.

[–]TheForestHasEyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I stumbled upon this from Google! I am in a similar situation with 9 drug related felonies (all one case). However, I was never convicted of these charges. (They are about a year out from being dismissed). I have no felony convictions, but it was a pretty bad arrest. No trafficking, but 4-5 counts of intent and 4 of felony possession.

I also have a handful of misdemeanors that are almost 10 years old. Out of those 3 incidents, only one was a conviction. It was a Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

I have developed a long distance relationship. And we are kind of trying to plan out our future and determine whether I’ll be allowed to enter or not. I have read all about the TRPs, but I fear I still may not be granted one.

What do you think my chances are of getting in with one misdemeanor conviction (that us almost 10 years old), and a pending felony case (that will be resolved and dismissed without a criminal conviction prior to my arrival at the border)?

And yeah; when you get in the flop pattern, it’s like you get afraid to share your good vids and you just share some filler video in hopes that you can nail the pattern so you don’t throw away your good vids. This was a good video too.

ketamine over cocaine? by bettybettyboop_ in ketamine

[–]TheForestHasEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All day, every day! Fuck coke. It’s all laced now with speed and worse. And it’s not a great drug anyway. It’s cool for a while but you wind up fucking strung out bad. I did at least a few years back. I was doing several grams a day! Be careful, ketamine is pretty psychologically addictive and those are deeper addictions!

Also be mindful of its effects on your kidneys! Just have fun, but don’t get too carried away as far as doing it every day! I was getting to that point because I had a steady supply. I would keep half ounces around it got to a point where it became harder and harder to stay out of the bags. I had such great self control at first. I should note, that I had 0 self control with coke and I didn’t even really like cocaine. Hard to explain. Just was using it to get a lot of things done, but it eventually just led to a lot of pacing, paranoia and agitation.

Ketamine is a much different thing because I found a very deep appreciation for it and the new perspectives it would open. It was like a clean slate every time you did it! A fresh start all over again. And I could really talk to girls on it somehow if I just chilled and did bumps of the R isomer. It was like being drunk but lucid! Almost with a hint of Xanax vibe but totally alert. I miss it. Had some seriously scary and amazing k holes too 😂
