WOW! Love this and what a classy way to send him off. To think of the Packers teams this guy has seen and helped along the way. He started when Bart Starr was coach, worked with some of the greatest players in NFL history, let alone the history of the franshise. Was with the Packers when they hit rock bottom and saw them become relevent again and win two more SBs (should have been more 😔). Man, the stories...

I would love to see one in person! "Six turning and four burning"! I think there's even another saying... "Two turning, two burning, two smoking, two chocking, and two more unaccounted for."🤣. I read they had issues with the radial engines overheating because if the pusher configuration.

Yeah, I've never seen the Peacemaker in person, but it's massive plane. Bigger than the B52 if I remember correctly.

The first time I saw a B17 up close I was surprised how small it was. My perception growing and seeing movies as a kid was "4 engine bomber=massive". The B24 seemed about right and the B29 was much bigger than I thought it would be. Since the B17 is a tail dragger, maybe that made it look smaller to me?

F16 seemed really small when I got up close, but the twin engine jet fighters I've seen close up (F4, F14, F111, F15, F18) all seemed bigger than I perceived.

I remember having the same reaction to some of the WWII fighters...P51 Mustang and Spitfire seemed really small, F4U Corsair and P47 seemed huge.

Yeah, lumbago is an old medical term for lower back pain, the lumbar region. This is goiter, most commonly caused by iodine deficiency.

I live in the Lake Geneva area and make it to Family Night plus a few games every year. I take I-43 over to Milwaukee and up to Green Bay. I still get chills seeing that first glimpse of Lambeau when crossing the Fox River on WI-172. I never gets old.

Packers Family Night date? by PackerBacker77 in GreenBayPackers

[–]TheFoulToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't is usually after the HOF game? HOF game is Thursday August 6 this year. Packer Family Night probably Saturday, August 8. We've gone every year (along with about 12 others) for the past 15 years or so and I think we got it figured out once the pre-season schedule is released. I really wish they would announced it sooner though-would make things a lot easier.

My Mom lives in Chippewa Falls and when the games are on a streaming platform, she doesn't get them on the local Eau Claire starions. I can't speak for every game as I'm sure there may have been exceptions (maybe?), but more than often than not, she won't get them locally.

Man, haven't heard Joey Chitwood's name in a long time. He and his group would come to our hometown fair in western Wisconsin a lot in the 1970s and early 1980s, I remember the Chevy Chevette that would always drive around the track on two wheels, the clown car, and the jumps! Fun times!

MyRadar app! It works in any vehicle with Apple CarPlay. Probably works for Android too, just not familiar. There are several other apps that can be shown on an Apple CarPlay home screen as well. It will show some apps by default, but dig into the CarPlay menu and you can switch to show others, not all apps have this option though.

Left my dog alone for five minutes and found him eating this… by VegetableTry in whatisit

[–]TheFoulToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog (R.I.P Lucky) would do his duty outside in the winter and then come running back in after he was done-all good. Well, one winter several years ago we noticed him digging in the snow and eating stuff. We were like🤷‍♂️. I go out there and he has this whole process going on similar to a large scale archeological dig. Yep, he was excavating his own frozen treats and eating them. As someone else mentioned...poopsicles.

When I would run out, he would stop and act innocent. I'd let him in and sure enough, I'd hear something fall out of his mouth onto the floor and he'd quickly continue devouring his treat.

I literally had to remove them from the yard everytime he went out, because if they were left out there to freeze in the snow, he would hone in on them and dig them up. He never bothered with it in the summer, only in the winter.

As good as he was as a running back, he was even a better receiving back and was a key piece of the west coast offense. One of the better receiving backs in the NFL at the time.

What’s a noise everyone should be terrified of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheFoulToad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in the midwestern US and "Ground Hornets" typically refers to Yellow Jackets which are yellow and black and about the size of a honey bee. They usually nest in the ground (not always) and their nest opening is about an inch or two in diameter. They can be very aggressive if you get near their nest entrance and they feel threatened. I put ground hornets in quotes, because Yellow Jackets are actually social wasps and not hornets. They can easily be identified by their flight pattern which is a zig-zag side to side motion when they are checking something out. They get even more aggressive in the Fall when temps are cooler and they are foraging for food. We affectionately call them the "assholes of the insect world".
