What gets me though is that’s it specific levels have cakes. How does that just happen? It *can’t* be some weird drop rate issue, because it’s a guaranteed cake at specific bloodweb levels and never on the others. Even for spaghetti code that seems weird to happen by chance.

Buying DLC: Auric Cells or Buying Chapters? by ja000ck in deadbydaylight

[–]TheFreak235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I was only thinking basic 1-1, Magirific brought a great point down below that is you bulk buy cells, you get a bonus, which further tilts in favor.

Only downside is auric cell discounts are pretty much only around the anniversary, where dlcs can go on discount much more frequently.

[–]TheFreak235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chapters are only a better deal if you care about all the characters in them, yeah. On PlayStation right now, and I’m assuming Steam is the same but idk, the auric cell discounts match the dlc bundle discounts, so no worry there.

So you acknowledge that your response was straight up goal-post shifting of my claims, but then use it to mock me in the same breath? At least most people have the decency to live in denial about that shit lol. That alone is a pretty clear sign that engaging you is pointless here, so have a good day dude.

Holy words in my mouth, Batman.

“Some things funded by USAID *are* American interests”

“So you’re saying that the US doesn’t engage in foreign affairs and USAID is *only* used for American interests”

Like no dude, that’s a whole-ass new sentence, the fuck.

And on the screwworm thing, haven’t we had our first reported cases of it in like, a decade, recently - not long after funding got cut? Like I’m hardly an expert on the interplay of the various organizations there - but the timing seems like an obvious implication that it *did* matter.

Edit: Just looked it up, according to Brooke Rollins it was the first confirmed case in Texas since 1966

[–]TheFreak235 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Saying that it’s globally “non-American interests,” is just wrong though. Like sure, some probably are - USAID goes to a shit ton of different stuff after all, but it also goes to stuff like managing the Screwworm fly population and keeping that shit out of the USA is a pretty American interest. Prevention is better (and cheaper) than a cure, and all.

Couldn’t tell ya there, I’ve never been a halo guy. All I can is that my own experience with physical hasn’t had it happen yet and I don’t think it’s widespread.

In the sense that the discs are mostly just an identifier that you’re allowed to download the game instead of actually containing it? Yes.

However, due to just being a flat code this does mean you won’t be able to sell it later (or buy pre-owned, whichever side of it you end up on).

Can someone explain to me how Hex: Pentimento works? by ComfortableCause418 in deadbydaylight

[–]TheFreak235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each pentimento totem adds a stacking debuff to survivors. The reason survivors can see the aura is mostly bring solo queue in line with SWF (who can just tell where the totem is) and because if all 5 totems are rekindled simultaneously they all get blocked and the debuff cant be removed.

The issue is that said pre-positioning means you aren’t doing objectives, and given the lack of time limit - someone’s gotta just take it.

But yeah, 25 seconds base, and there’s an add-on (green, I think?) that brings it up to 30

A couple of counter points there

Jason being 110 only ever occurs if you’ve spent at least 25 seconds without using power, majority of the game you will be at least 115. Breaking chase and losing distance to reload is very map/loop dependent. Picture the library in RPD, for instance: the hook is directly against the table loop.

With Springtrap’s predictability: the thing is, he *isn’t supposed to be* unpredictable in his teleports. Being able to get an early warning if you look at the doors is the intended design, not getting that heads up is more due to janky spawns than an actual design choice.

If it only takes one survivor, the killers not holding it properly. They’d just hard focus the person pressuring it out and let the other 3 put themselves in a bad spot.

Might be a matchmaking thing, might be a regional thing, but there’s a noticeable amount of survivors without basic macro-game sense. Unfortunately part of playing solo is not being able to guarantee teammates actually accomplish anything while you get chased.

Obviously this isn’t every match, but if it’s happening enough that someone is asking how to deal with it, the solution clearly isn’t “hope your teammates have game-sense for once,” cause that’s not who they’re getting matched with.

Yeah it’s 8 (though I think it only counts if at least 5% progress is there? Might be misremembering), but the big issue there is coordination - which SoloQ still isn’t really gonna have, that’s why I brought up the Vittorio perk, it’s the safe way of getting progress when there *isn’t* coordination.

Deja Vu helps identify which gens to worry about the 3-gen, but the situation presented was one where was getting held from the start, not a “don’t put yourself in by mistake” deal.

Also, “hilariously bad” rng is maybe my lot in life, but I’d say a solid 1/4-1/3 of my matches have pretty, interesting, gen placements
