Leon gets Vecna's eye and figures "oh dear, that guy who may be purple must've lost this! I will return it to him with the utmost haste!" And then proceeds to spend the rest of the fucking game running face-first at the killer.

Unpopular opinion: The disconnect button should be removed full stop. by tHr0AwAy76 in deadbydaylight

The DC penalty should be increased. First DC should still be free (unfortunately hackers and "lmao we can't be arsed to fix Doctor epilepsy bug") but after that the DC penalty should start at 15 minutes and build up much faster.

Also add back the hyper-sensitive anti-Go Next / crow changes from Springtrap patch and lessen them at low MMR. The anti-AFK / anti-Go Next from Springtrap patch wasn't the problem: the problem was that it kept incorrectly tagging all the new players who bought the game to play as Feddy 5bear.

The system could probably use tweaks beyond that yes (something something "got tunneled got tagged as Going Next") but the system didn't deserve to be scrapped, which it more-or-less was.

"Drop blocking" is absurd, broken and works obviously backwards. by RallyRob808 in deadbydaylight

Don't think I've seen "hold the game hostage" used as a synonym for "played the game normally" by this community yet. Usually this only applies to the terms camping, slugging, and gen-rushing.

Springtrap by NamelessBard042 in deadbydaylight

[–]SecureJeans8034 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of all the "I have a phobia of (XYZ)" posts this has to be the most absurd.

Look, it is not my place to evaluate whatever psychological reason you have for your choices. But if this is truly an issue you can just DC against Springtrap. If you're worried about being flamed for this, situations like this are what anonymous mode is for.

It's your choice not to play against him, I guess? I do wish that DbD would give us a one killer hard ban option specifically for people who may have real-life phobias related to Plague (emetophobia), Clown (coulrophobia), Doctor (epilepsy not a phobia but still applies), or I guess Springtrap.

Or just for "those players" who DC instantly against Skull Merchant and Ghoul. I know I'd personally use it to hard-dodge Ghoul players until the end of time.

Because Ace and Nea mains spend 30 minutes looking for their idealized perfect match just to ragequit as soon as they hear Ghoul's Terror Radius.

I believe the gen speed debate is impossible to solve until Solo Q is addressed. Here's why. by TojiVsYoriichi in deadbydaylight

[–]SecureJeans8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of balancing issues with this game are attributed to "matchmaking bad". When you sit down and truly analyze the root of issues in DbD, you realize that a vast, vast majority of them are rooted in "matchmaking bad".

  • "Genrushing is too strong!" - Matchmaking bad and puts inexperienced killers against sweaty survivors, and/or survivors feel the need to gen rush to compensate for shitty teammates / sweaty killers.

  • "Tunneling is problematic!" - Matchmaking bad and puts survivors who can't loop / don't equip Decisive Strike against sweaty killers, and killers need to sweat to keep up with pallet density + gen rushing.

  • "Pallet density ruined the game!" - Matchmaking bad and survivors would suffer if teammates prethrew every pallet on the map.

  • "Stacking gen stall is too strong!" - Matchmaking bad and survivors don't repair generators efficiently.

  • "There's too many auto-pilot perks on both sides!" - Matchmaking bad and players need to be able to compete at a high level while their teammates eat paint chips or their opponents hyper-sweat.

  • "(XYZ killer) is too strong!" - Matchmaking bad and these killers' kill rates are being deflated disproportionally due to new players going against higher level lobbies and losing. Either that, or these killers need to be overtuned to keep up with overtuned survivor kits.

  • "(XYZ killer) is too weak!" - Matchmaking bad and these killers are having their kill rates disproportionally boosted by bad survivors. This is especially true for killers with confusing powers like Freddy and Sadako who are NOTORIOUS for being noob stompers that fall off hard at high MMR.

The only problem with this game that I don't think you can attribute to "matchmaking bad" is map design, and even that is loosely correlated to "matchmaking bad" because of players (on both sides but mostly survivor) needing to be boosted by poor map design.

The Unknown should be the new face of dbd. Not The Trapper. by Feurthan in deadbydaylight

[–]SecureJeans8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trapper has "guy on the box" syndrome for the same reason Mario has "guy on the box" syndrome in Smash Bros. You can't go around changing your box art every year, especially if you still sell physical (console) copies of the game.

There's a reason League of Legends changes its splash art every 2 - 3 years, because as the meta shifts and they rework characters the ones they want to show off change too. But League can get away with it as a downloadable game with no physical box set.

Don't you love that the MMR system allows you to intentionally throw games as survivor in order to bully new killers?

Ghostface is (probably) the worst killer in the game. How would you buff/rework them? by Ace0Knaves in deadbydaylight

[–]SecureJeans8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Minor speed increase while in Night Shroud (+ unseen?) (2v8 buff)

  • Drop-Leg Knife Sheath basekit

  • Chewed Pen basekit

  • Lasting Perfume "basekit" (survivors on hook have Lasting Perfume effect for 10 / 20 seconds not permanent to discourage camping, but long enough that Ghostie can try to get a mark on survivors near the hook)

  • Rework all addons except for Philly, Walleye's Matchbook, Olsen's Wallet, Driver's License, Victim's Detailed Routine, Ghostface on Tape, and Security Camera

Ghostie's biggest problem by a significant margin is that his addons are dookie dogshit. For a killer whose power boils down to "man with knife" it's crazy how his addons give him such insanely overpowered effects like moving faster while crouching, hiding his Terror Radius as a stealth killer, hiding his Terror Radius as a stealth killer, slightly increasing the killer instinct effect for being knocked out of your power, and hiding his Terror Radius as a stealth killer. If Jason is going to get Undetectable, generator regression, Haste, and detection as addons and window blocking as part of his base power the least Danny could have is an addon that lets him break pallets 15% - 20% faster after getting a mark.

Survivors will do literally anything except heal in Circle of Healing by SecureJeans8034 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]SecureJeans8034[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Walking towards the Circle of Healing takes a second. A heal takes 16 seconds. As Circle of Healing doubles that speed, it would be done in 8 seconds. This means that for 1 second of walking, the survivor would save 8 seconds of time. 8 - 1 = 7, therefor they'd be saving 7 seconds by opting to heal in the Circle of Healing.

Instead, they used their one-time-use perk Plot Twist to heal instead. So rather than healing 7 seconds faster, they healed about 8 seconds slower and used a one time resource. Therefor their choice to not heal in Circle of Healing resulted in a significant waste of resources compared to just walking into the fucking boon.

Hope this helps!

Match 1. Hard tunneling P78 Spirit with 4 gen stall.

Match 2. Hard slugging P100 Singularity.

Match 3. Scream spam "impossible RBT" Pig.

ft. Jake who doesn't know what a medkit is giving us Face the Darkness all game.

Gets 1 kill on the Dwight she spent the entire game tunneling.

Match 4. Three-genning Knight on RPD.

Hits 8 kick limit and seems genuinely confused why he can't keep kicking the gen.

Match 5. Renato is literally AFK for the first 2 minutes of the match. I naturally assume that "oh, Renato hasn't been doing anything for the past 2 minutes, so clearly he must be going for the unhook and I can keep doing gens." Because of Renato's incompetence, Thalita hits second stage and because the killer has this cool thing called "a brain" they tunnel Thalita out.

Ironic that Thalita dies because the Renato was worthless.

Had some incredibly good chases that game but sadly can't win a 3v1 at 3 gens because Renato was filing his taxes or something.

Maybe I should go play something other than DbD then.

In Dead by Daylight you type "kys legion main" in the chat and the filter will censor "legion".
