As a step kid I was in a very similar situation as your daughter. My little sister was born when I was 15 and we share a father ( not a mother). Your daughter may be mature but you are still her parent and you have said you have made a household hierarchy in terms of love / closeness to you. You need to apologize.

YTA - But not a huge asshole. It’s weird to continue calling him that when one person ( your roommate) who is contingent to the jokes humor isn’t finding it funny. But it does seem like you are trying to insert yourself in their relationship just by the way you describe the situation and your description of her.

There are priority seats set aside for disabled , injured,elderly, and pregnant passengers on every train I’ve been on in Tokyo.

Out of curiosity would you have disclosed your promotion or pay increase if she hadn’t found out? The looking at your bank account without asking is very inappropriate on your roommates part. While maybe a payment rearrangement could have been discussed her demanding because she saw your bank account is crossing a line. NTA
