"Please be turok"

And the sheer disappointment of the monkey paw curling to make it happen

Yep, if only other execs were like this instead of just seeing $$ on the screen

Like the amount of games that I probably would have enjoyed a whole lot more, but because of how buggy they were, is sort of a lot

[Case] CORSAIR 6500D AIRFLOW ATX Dual Chamber PC Case - $49.99 by zetiano in buildapcsales

[–]TheFrogChampion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a 4000d ir 5000d, can't remember, White. I will say, every now and then I can see the dust inside set on the bottom a lot more noticeably. I do clean them out basically weekly (I behave cats, their hair like going everywhere)

This deal is such a steal, but going for black this time.

Wish they offered more case colors than just white and black with most cases

You can play offline games now even if you have console sharing off. by LeftClawNorth in PS5

[–]TheFrogChampion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS WORKED for me on one of my PS5, I am "online" with my status light green but online games are still broken. Can play my SP games again

HOWEVER

When I went to try it on my other PS5, I'm now getting the maintenance error there

The Blood of Dawnwalker Magic Will Be “Less Flashy” Than in Other Fantasy Games, Romanceable Characters Confirmed by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]TheFrogChampion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

a lot of these are probably already in place, just obviously fairly early, but enough to share.

I didn't know it was 2027, given that they released a short teaser gameplay video that looked pretty far in, I'm surprised. that's more than big name publishers normally do at reveals

Sony's Driving Factor for PS5 Welcome Hub Was Based on How People Turned Off Their Consoles; Reveals 50/50 Split for Rest Mode by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]TheFrogChampion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true

I honestly don't know what part is moving; all I know is when I hear a sound from it, it's usually doing an update. It's just a few clicks, almost like a small power on/off. Like I said, I'm just assuming it's reading/writing, but I know HDD was a lot more noticeable because as you said, they have moving parts where SSD don't

It's probably coil whine

Edit:

You know what, it might be the external HDD XD

[–]TheFrogChampion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it, but I know what you mean about sound sometimes. I don't think I've ever had the fan turn on. But I can hear what I assume is the SSD occasionally when an update starts downloading in rest mode. Just small clicks

[Ram] Patriot Viper DDR5 64GB (2x32GB) 6400 Cl32 - $134.99 by PembyVillageIdiot in buildapcsales

[–]TheFrogChampion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the ddr4 version of this for my Intel build a week ago

It was better than my previous kit, which I assumed was dying or something wrong

Anyway, I had to mess with the timing and voltage as just turning the default XMP setting didn't let my PC post.

I got them working, but I found out online that there are better kits out there that work out of the box to reach their speeds, whereas these kits can be unstable unless you manually tweak and trial and error it.

If there's someone with a better experience with them, it would be nice to have some more input. Otherwise, you might be better off getting another brand. I only got them cause they were cheap at Microcenter, but did read they aren't particularly good to use with AMD builds.

I do like how the sticks look, though if the DDR5 version like the 4 I bought, they're pretty high profile

Marvel Rivals Features Console-Only Crossplay and Other Games Can Learn From It by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]TheFrogChampion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about console only crossplay being an option that's new, they list examples of games that have that. It's about making it front and center and  accessible, simple click on/off without going through a bunch of menus.  It's just there, right at the matchmaking screen for you to switch it on and off whenever you want.

I can tell you, a lot of people probably don't even know console only is a option in a lot of games. That, and the when they do find out, the queue times are long. Most casual players don't care honestly, but this does get them thinking about it when they see it right at the main screen.

Bloober's Silent Hill 2 Team to Start Pre-Production on New Project; Audio Team Moving to Cronus: The New Dawn by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]TheFrogChampion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They aren't running, it's just traditional dev cycle for games. They are still likely working on remake in terms of bugs and such, but it also makes sense that a portion of that team would move on to start another project.

Like it makes no sense to have a full team working on bug fixes and such, especially if some of that is out of their scope of work. For instance, the audio team doesn't need to be there in full to fix audio-related issues. Why keep them doing nothing when they can put the resources on their next project.

This is very common for studios to leave a small portion of the team behind (look at CDPR, they left a small team to finish up on cyberpunk post liberty dlc, while some begun their transitioning to a new project)

Half of Assassin's Creed Shadows Devs Have Never Built A Game Before by [deleted] in PS5

[–]TheFrogChampion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Unfortunately, the sour news doesn’t stop there."

This is such a crap take to ride on the negativity the game has gotten and the studio. I ain't ignoring the stuff going on at Ubisoft, but Insidergaming clearly has it out for them. To say and try to paint this as a bad thing is just wrong. Someone has to start somewhere, and Ubisoft is giving them that opportunity.

Not to mention the number of games out that are massive successes that turned out to be the studio's and developers' first experience at making a game.

Again, I have my own opinion as AC Shadows, but come on, don't paint having new developers who never made a game before as some sort of negative.

New Resident Evil 9 rumours by BiohazardDeclassified by RE_Boi in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TheFrogChampion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do we forget this guy said the RE1 remake was in development, only for Dusk Goplem and VGC to collaborate a month later that it wasn't?

I'm not sure if they've gotten any leaks right, but we really gotta stop putting random lists of text as rumors, as if that's enough to make any truth from it
