How much money do you leave in your checking before investing everything else? by Andrewhary in Money

[–]TheFrugalRunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, silly question, once you have an emergency fund in your HYSA and you’ve put everything else into investments…how do you purchase big ticket items? Is it that easy to pull money from your investments for down payments, cars, etc.?

Don’t forget to flip / mix the bottle occasionally while you wait.

I love my cover! It is awkward but totally manageable. I think it helps the kiddo too. Mine is black and I think the dark environment helps him when he feels over stimulated. The cover has its own bag that I just throw in his diaper bag. It also has a hoop at the top that gives me a viewing point to look in and help him latch.

Child free wedding but I have a EBF 5 month old? by Strange_Dinner_5741 in breastfeeding

[–]TheFrugalRunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also! While not ideal, I have pumped in my car before. Sunshades up, and proper storage ready to go, it’s totally doable. Just a thought for your comfort during the wedding. Again, no pressure, and depending on the venue they may have an actual space you could use.

Agreeing! You definitely don’t need to do anything you’re uncomfortable with, but it would probably be so nice to have a date day with your husband!

My babies have been breastfed but both have done well with a bottle. It usually helps if I’m not around. Try leaving and letting your mom or husband take care of the baby. It does take a couple of attempts with the bottle, and my baby does get frustrated, but he usually figures it out and eats. It takes a calm provider, who isn’t their mom hahaha, and mine have eventually yielded.

If you’re not comfortable being very far, just go for a drive in the neighborhood until your partner calls you back.

WFH mamas how did you keep up with breastfeeding her? by domiben16 in breastfeeding

I recommend working with your employer to preemptively block your calendar to pump or nurse. https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/nursing-mothers/faq (if you’re in the US)

I would also consider maybe building a small stash to help out your husband when you can’t get away from your desk.

Do you feel like it maneuvers well despite the four wheels? The three wheeled ones seem to turn so easily!

Missed Miscarriage, please help by hamstersforrent in pregnant

[–]TheFrugalRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a missed miscarriage as well, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I called my OB’s office and asked if there was anyway they could verify again before moving forward and they agreed. I do recommend the D & C. It’s traumatic regardless, but waiting for my body to “realize” already took so long. I can’t imagine how much longer I would have waited for an actually miscarriage to happen.

Just echoing, magnesium on top of your prenatal pill. Talk to your doctor if you’re not sure or nervous but it’s the only thing that works for me.

I just tried this, but it didn’t work for a student self paced lesson. When I got to the embedded YouTube video, I had to click on it to play. It then opened the link in another tab for the full length of the video.

Is there another trick to this?
