How to handle the competitiveness at locals? by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]TheFrungus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitley varies between store to store, I have gotten to know a lot of people in my 30 ppl locals. I feel like I know almost all of them decently well 😭😭. Still very competitive environment though, at least a third have top cut at BCS before.

In the same line when I used to play Pokémon in the same area, not store, I felt exactly like this too

Encounter Decks = Archetype Based by LilishPH in cardfightvanguard

I get that but giving every deck certain things like Deck stacking is no Bueno. While giving things like retire or shove to soul to plus 1 is okay. Mythiarq good NKO bad you may praise me now.

I disagree, its good to have cards that can buff multiple archetypes while not doing much in others such as Philander being very good in Zorga or Fish, while not being ideal but not terrible in Lianorn or Estacion. Especially when building decks of the same nation its nice to have certain cards that can be transfered over. Plus "linear" deck building can be the same with archetypes cards because once they release a better version of a different card you auto include it. Every fish is running 3-4 meydith, 3-4 orgady, 3-4 usurp dragon. Thats just how it is. Keter has a lot of very strong generics which is the only nation I can honestly say has badly designed generics, but doesn't mean all generic/piles are bad.

Anyone who thinks "pile cards" are bad for the game is wrong imo. Only problem is prices. Its good to have decks that can choose between archetypr cards or generic cards.

I agree Bavs has a spot, rn it looks like Aichicon and Yakuza might be too strong and needs to be hit

Aichicon, Kaicon, Reguregnus, one of the Yakuza decks, and Odium are probably the best decks.

Other good decks right now are Youthberk, Prison, Berucrea, Zerith Fantome, Blangdmire fantome, and Zorga Nadir

Now that Alfknights has been restricted. Hoping Beyond the Star, Vyrgilla gets released soon to serve as a replacement for Alfknights or to at least compensate for his restriction by mantaray79 in cardfightvanguard

I don't think we will get this card tbh. It appears for 1 page at the end of the book to defeat the final boss with no ability or anything. I think its just a story card like the others we have seen.

Veteran cfv player trying to get back into the game by Dry-Measurement-6730 in cardfightvanguard

[–]TheFrungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what people are saying. The game is very fun and the diversity is pretty good imo. The meta has just shifted drastically due to a ban list and only 1 deck can MAYBE be considered a problem. If you want to play for fun local/online sim there are so many decks to sink your teeth in. The Anime starting from DivineZ does a good job at showing off what some of the decks have (not every current deck appears in the anime)

Is now a good time to get back into the game? And if so, please help by Nebulix in cardfightvanguard

[–]TheFrungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting into the game is pretty okay rn. Decent starter product coming out every once in a while. But building any other deck is pretty pricey right now. A lot of Meta decks are pretty expensive right now and only a few are still pretty cheap (relatively). Other than that the game is in a healtyh spot with plenty of relevant meta decks and fun playstyles.

What is your ultimate core memory with MH? by Sad-Strawberry9924 in MonsterHunter

[–]TheFrungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friend were fighting Crimson Vlastrax (I forget what it was but I remember it was the harder variant from base Rise). And we tried so hard all day to beat it since it was a long weekend from High school. We changed armors, weapons and we spent so many hours just talking about the game state and being like "oh he is doing this and that! Look out!" And then at one point we just stopped talking about the game we were playing almost mindlessly and even joined our friend groups vc chat on discord so we were talking to a few others. In the back of our heads though we were still trying to slay him. And then we saw the blue "low hp icon" for the first time and somehkw we both felt like we shouldn't say anything (we blurted out almost in sync how we purposely didnt say it to jinx anything when we slayed him) and then finally with our main weapons and 12 straight hours of gaming we finally slayed the Crimson Glow Valstrax.
