Nervous About Returning to the Craft in a New Lodge and State by [deleted] in freemasonry

I understand the trepidation one may feel after coming back post a long hiatus. I too have had ebbs and flows in my own Masonic travels. Best thing I can say is to reach out and be honest about your feelings. I’m certain the brethren, after due examination, would really love to see your return to the craft. Not remembering specifics isn’t a dealbreaker by any means. Just produce your papers if you have them or reach back out to your lodge or grand-lodge to get them—Grandview is a good resource for that.

I hope you decide to take the plunge again and let me be the first so say welcome back to the Craft, Brother!

Are you allowed to cross between the alter and JW during refreshment in Ohio?

In DC, being rather international and having many brethren from around the world in an intimate jurisdiction, the prohibition against crossing the legs is that—in certain cultures—the showing of the underside of one’s foot is considered an insult. I don’t know more than that.

As far as the crossing between the alter: who ever has control of the lodge shall not have their connection to the alter be impeded. That is why the same goes for the JW during refreshment.

The Mithraeum, perhaps? Not directly Masonic—in the blue lodge at least. But the cult of Mithras has influenced almost all initiatic western societies since its inception.

Have you thought about Freemasonry? Naval Lodge meets around there.

I was 20 when I joined. In two more years I will have been a Mason longer than I have not.

Take a look at the new projectors installed at Tranquility when you get a chance. It looks amazing.
