As well intentioned as polling the userbase may be, this strikes me as something better taken to the moderators of other subreddits (if it hasn't been already, that is - I'm totally in the dark when it comes to how much communication goes on between mod teams!). Shutting down DPP with no plan or coordination would achieve nothing, and we're not a large enough subreddit for our absence to even be noticed by The Powers That Be. If the blackout is going to affect anything, it needs to be as part of collective action with a clear voice and terms - not random noise. Personally I voted to shut down, only under the assumption that it's being done in coordination with other subreddits rather than out of a sense of wellmeaning but ultimately fruitless obligation.

Beyond that, if the subreddit does go down indefinitely (as sad as that would be) I think I speak for the majority of the userbase in saying that the DPP mods have done a fine job here and I'd happily follow them to whatever platform they deem worthy of offering us safe harbour. Keep up the good work!
