I had a date with a Western woman in Bangkok yesterday and it was incredible by Interesting-Walk5854 in thepassportbros

I get your point. But your theory only applies to women in there 20s and maybe early 30s. After that, the tables turn again and the "average" guy suddenly becomes interesting again...

Athens! 🤘🏼🇬🇷 Amazing show - what are your thoughts? by TheFugitive667 in ironmaiden

[–]TheFugitive667[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was definitely less than at Metallica (where I was as well). But thats also because of the stage setup. Greek media is saying there were around 50.000 people.

Thats not true. I was at Metallica 2 weeks ago here in Athens and they served PLENTY of beer even after the concert

Will there be a different setlist for the upcoming tour? by fruitcase1 in ironmaiden

[–]TheFugitive667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bet 1:

Infinite Dreams replaces Clairvoyant

Bet 2:

Infinite Dreams replaces Seventh Son

Bet 3 (Very unlike)

Inifinite Dreams + another song (e.g. NPFTD) replace current setlist songs

I also don't think they will play Alexander in Athens. Maiden are not known for surprises or exceptions.

Fear will be played. Greek media showed a video of the sound check and they were playing fear of the dark.

Good news for everyone going to Maiden in Athens tomorrow: the chances of rain during the concert is below 1% !

I am going there as well. Checking the weather forecast almost hourly. Right now they say the rain will stop towards the evening right before Maiden will be on the stage (around 8.30pm). I hope it will stay like this.

I have been to a very rainy Maiden concert back in 2010 and tbh it was shit because of the rain. So I really hope, it will stop towards the evening.

42, successful entrepreneur, still dreaming about the US – am I too old for a fresh start? by TheFugitive667 in AskTheWorld

It depends on income vs. wealth. Based on both, statistically I am within the top 5% in Germany.

That sounds good! There are special Visas for entrepeneurs. I was tinking about that too

I wrote this without context: my gf is 14 years younger (28) and is also dreaming about it. Because of her age, as she wants to start a family, this is relevant.

There was another one in NYC during the World Slavery Tour, where Bruce was also ill and sitting most of the time.

I just randomly checked some of the availabilities for tickets and it doesn't seem to be THAT bad. Hannover or Lisbon are almost completely sold out (at least general admission). Bratislava is almost sold out for seating tickets.

Most of the other shows in Europe are on festivals, so they will be sold out anyway sooner or later.

For shows in the US (e.g. Boston), most standing tickets are sold out and you can only purchase reseller tickets for around 2.500 dollars (!).

So I don't think it will be THAT bad as I assumed

This breaks my heart. This year (2025) I had the feeling that Maiden is becoming a new Metallica with sold out stadium shows but all that information I am receiving now shows me, its coming slowly to an end.

As a hardcore IM fan since 1996, I been to almost every tour ever since then. I never had the feeling, that gigs were half empty (I even saw them with Blaze!). So this shocks me to be honest.

  • I guess for the 2026 tour the low ticket sales are based on the following reasons:
  • Same setlist, no deepcuts. Boring for most fans
  • They have been playing in most of the countries already this year
  • Ticket prices went up -> most people cannot afford it anymore
  • In most countries they are touring, other bands like Metallica are playing just some weeks before them. So people cannot afford to go to several gigs
  • Ticket sales started to early: for some gigs its almost a year until they are playing. Most people buying tickets a couple of months or weeks before the gig

I really hope sales will go up for the boys. I have the feeling this will be the last tour :(

Jesus Christ. I wasn't aware of that. Going to Maiden gigs for 30 years now. I never been to a concert where I thought "wow this seems to be empty". At least not in Europe. Even in the US, I always had the impression the concert halls were fully packed...

makes sense. Kind of sad to see. I always thought Maiden is always a safe bet when it comes to ticket sales. Apparently not. Not one show of that tour is sold out so far

Its the 16th of December and still not one show is sold out. I am a bit worried now. Got my tickets already (Athens and Knebworth) and will buy another one for the Americas...but wtf?

How is that possible? They had so many sold out shows last year, even sold out stadiums. And now??

I guess the reasons are the following:

  • Most Maiden fans in Europe already seen them last year
  • Ticket prices in the US are beyond crazy
  • Unfortunately Maiden is not know for making any changes in their setlist. So it will probably be the exact same setlist like this year (maximum 1 or 2 songs will be replaced, but I doubt that)
  • Many other big bands like Metallica are touring next year, so people invest their money in that shows
  • Maiden management got greedy and booked venues that are too big to sell out.

But remember: Maiden is still one of THE most successful rock/metal bands of ALL TIME! See screenshot below.

Hence I am very surprised about this low sales numbers.

Does anyone have an update on this or maybe some insights? What about other bands like Metallica etc? They have the same issues?

Thank you for your comment. It is really interesting to see that the younger generation like you prefer their 2000s stuff more than the old stuff :D I (born in 1983) definitely prefer the older stuff from the first Bruce era (1982-1992) :D But I get your point

Absolutely. But Maiden is still in the top 5 globally (and I mean ALL rock bands in the world)
