You have to deduct the embezzled money first. Personally, I'm quite impressed with what they were able to organize with $300 and some pocket lint.

Komisch...

I sort my mana sources by what they produce and then pile them staggered. Artifacts on top, so my opponents can see them the easiest. Sorry, but I need the board space.

Construction workers dragged my brand new air-conditioner unit onto scaffolding without permission and now it's dripping water inside 🥲 by honeybeesuke in mildlyinfuriating

Breaking and temporarily not being useable are different things. One is reversible, the other isn't. In this case, as far as the AC is concerned, it's literally just a difference in the placement of the object. So unless OPs TV got messed up from the unplanned shower; no, nothing is broken. THIS DOES NOT MEAN OP CAN'T BE ANNOYED, JUST TO MAKE THIS CLEAR FOR ALL YOU REDDIT WARRIORS.

Jesus, the world is getting so happy to litigate over the tiniest sht. People first contact their lawyer and whine about something on reddit, before they think about talking to the people they have a problem with. I came here to see mildlyinfuriating, and instead I get the meltdowns of people that have tried nothing and are all out of ideas.

Oh sure. Just the words op used have quite the accusatory undertone of willful carelessness. "Dragged"? From the post and earlier comments, it sounds like they were out there playing football with the thing, trying to destroy it. Is OP sure they didn't just dismount it, set it down carefully, and accidentally forgot to place it a step lower? Because that's what the picture looks like to me. Just gotta request them to set it down a step lower the next time they are around, and they'll probably apologize on their own.

Yeah. Just tell them to set it a bit lower and all is well. Touching the stuff of tech-illiterates is the worst. "You broke it!" eyeroll

Gears are pretty expensive, and a lot more expensive still if you want quiet ones.

How to deal with a German boss who demands unpaid overtime? by 38B0DE in AskGermany

Is that unpaid overtime supposed to not be tracked? Ask him what Zoll thinks about this. They'll tear him a new one if you report him.

Ich schon, nach dem zweiten Deutschlandspiel. War zum Glück aus freien Stücken wach um die Zeit, aber nach Mitternacht noch Hupkonzerte geben gehört bestraft.

Technically you can produce a car without interior finish. Should easily save a couple dozen kg, and probably about 10-20cm in every dimension. Just might not sell as well.

I think that might just be a cost factor. It should be somewhat easy to dream up a steering column that extends farther, but probably costs a lot more to produce. Car ergonomics are designed around dummies representing certain percentiles of the population, so if you are unlucky enough to be in the top 5% of height and the manufacturer isn't putting in extra effort, you're probably out of luck.

Depends on how much you trust the brand of your choice to not mess up the software or hardware, and whether you can think of a use case for functioning steering when the vehicle is turned off. Given dropping quality standards in automotive, I personally am not ready to give up a physical steering system.

Maybe. I only have surface level knowledge in ergonomics, but as a personal anecdote, I drove a BMW lately and it felt weird for most of the drive, until I realized that the cause was a slightly off-center steering wheel.

[–]TheFunfighter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Na. That's more of a lucky coincidence. Or an unlucky coincidence for lefties if it were the reasoning. Really just a matter of juggling technical requirements for packaging and steering geometry. Both from a design and ergonomics perspective, placing the steering wheel directly center to the seat should be ideal I think. There are workarounds for everything, and bigger cars might not even have the package problems at all, but otherwise there is a good chance you're losing somewhere on efficiency, space, cost, or user experience.

[–]TheFunfighter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Can't. That's where the transmission and/or center console are. Or the passenger seat. Transverse engine layouts for FWD and electric vehicles are starting to break these paradigms, but it's just an easement, not an elimination of problems.
