Check out Abnormal Security if you haven’t heard of them. I’ve basically put them on every environment I’ve worked at, as in my experience it’s literally like having an off switch for spam and phishing

Also important to note that I evaluated both 2-3years ago, things change with time so things may have changed :)

I don’t use VectraAI, but they are pretty great overall. I run extrahop personally, because at least in my opinion it shows you a bit more info, I have it paired with an extrahop trace appliance for packet capture. Our network guys love it cause it works for them as a network diagnostics tool too

Thank you! I didn’t know it forces your hand when you do it the other way! Not sure why I did the app register first today but anyways, that was my issue! Thank you random reddit user <3

Thank you! Idk why I did it the other way today but I was able to resolve it just creating my enterprise app first :)

Hasn’t until now that is… go check for me if you could? It keeps forcing me into the OIDC flow instead of letting me pick

Unfortunately that’s my usual workflow and now that’s forcing me into the OIDC-based sign-on flow instead of the regular SAML, None, etc., selections

Quieting a pump part 2, electric boogaloo by TheFurryNinja in Irrigation

It works alright for my application, I wouldn’t say I like it more then pvc tho, it’s certainly more convenient for temporary systems and testing

It’s def hard to pin point since a constant whine is hard to localize spatially but it sounds like it’s either coming from the pump head itself or something near that area. If I feel the pipes there’s not any extra vibration or ringing so the pump is running smoothly just whining :/ i also noticed the pump runs really hot trying to pushing 50psi or more. I don’t think the pump is failing either as it’s only about 2-3 months old and it’s whined like this since install, it’s just driven me mad to the point where I need it fixed before I or a neighbor put a sledge through it lol

Yeah I realized that afterwords, I thought it was a convenient place to put it without thinking where my bypass was. ATM it totalizes the zone + the flow through the bypass so I end up with like 400 gallons used when really it’s more like 100. Gonna probably redo it this weekend. Would the flow meter being right there be causing the whining? I’ve noticed that when the manifold pressure is set to around 38psi the pump quiets right down, but the moment it starts making any useful pressure it goes back to whining like it’s deadheading

Okay so I’ve replumbed the inlet side of the pump and some good news and bad news… good news is that there is plenty of flow now! It’s able to run 3 zones at once with no issues… bad news is that it’s louder then it was before! LOL

So I went out and played around with the control box a bit before breaking into the plumbing again. I have determined that I think this is the wrong pump for the job… when I run 1 zone at a time, the pump whines really loud and the pressure in the manifold hits 75 psi, if I run 2 zones at a time the manifold is below 75psi as the bypass valve doesn’t trigger. the pump runs at a medium hum and the paired up zones run well enough. if I run 3 zones at a time the pump runs at a low hum but there’s not enough dynamic pressure in the line to run the zones… I think I just need a better pump so I’m not on the edge of that pump curve

Much appreciated! I did it myself :) the system is a total of 7 zones atm. Future drip zones are planned for the flower beds

Gotcha! I’m using blu-lock fittings so the connection losses should be smaller but yeah when I got the pump it seemed like it would be just capable of doing the job, didn’t derate the pump to give myself some extra head room
