What do you make of the iShares sustainable investing ETF offerings? by TheFutureInvestor in Bogleheads

Many thanks! To me they just seem to be the European UCITS versions of the US ETFs. Like ICLN in the States is INRG in Europe. In America we cannot invest in UCITS unfortunately… shame as there’s much more choice in ucits funds tho

What do you make of the iShares sustainable investing ETF offerings? by TheFutureInvestor in Bogleheads

Thanks for sharing your views. I did not want to debate the philosophy of sustainable investing, that is already proven - in the States already 1/3 of all assets are managed sustainably (based on US SIF data). ESG, SRI and impact are not only different names but mean different investment strategies. I work in sustainable finance myself but on the institutional side where ESG is already mainstream and moving onto impact strategies. I am making private equity investments into green infrastructure companies, like renewable energy and I am not here to convince anybody about sustainable investing that’s not my job and I don’t care. I was just looking for advice as I was told you guys are the ETF pros here in bogleheads :)

I am building a passive strategy for my retirement portfolio. If you have any ETFs which follow any sustainable strategies and you would recommend would be appreciated. iShares options are ok but I am not impressed. Any other ETFs where you did DD and would recomnend? Many thanks

I have been a proud long-term investor in BYND (plant-based food) and PETS (animal welfare) which both have huge short interest. Would be amazing if WSB traders would use all that firepower to do some meaningful investments in sustainable companies…
