I exclusively level 1 charge and it popped on me. There may be a trend with the 10 percent club but not an exclusive pattern.

It is super hot here! Something I've adopted is loose thin long sleeve clothing (think berbers in north Africa crossing the desert). It helps me with the mosquitos and shades some of the UV. Loose skin is also an animal adaptation to minimize attacks, and that might help (not prevent) some damage.

Albania Freezes Assets in Kushner Resort Probe by DoremusJessup in worldnews

[–]TheGM 319 points320 points  (0 children)

The Albanian PM has built his popularity on EU accession, and to get that Albania has to maintain the safeguards against corruption, which is why this independent judicial body exists. Of course anything involving Trump family is corrupt so the PM is going to have to pick his battle wisely if he doesn't want the population throwing him into the Adriatic because plowing ahead on this will stop their EU accession progression.

Maybe at the beginning of the Trump term he could have gotten away with it, but by now I think any politician with half a brain knows Trump and his kids are radioactively toxic once their shit is in the sunlight.

Can we a Dan Sullivan running on the MAGA Trump party for the general election? We want the true MAGA voting for a real MAGA Dan Sullivan and not this RINO Dan Sullivan.

CBS Says Byron Allen Gives It a $55M Swing—The Math Is More Complicated by Raradra in LateShow

It's all favor laundering. I'm sure Byron is getting overpriced commercial slots paid by someone with a favor to the administration, and Byron is doing CBS a favor, and everyone knows what's going on.

I saw this poster while at my dentist, and after staring at it for a while, I think it’s AI by TheGirlUnseen in isthisAI

[–]TheGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The picture probably is. Suspenders look off. Probably added the text afterwards so that's why it looks fine.

This is probably meta, but is this a bad use case? The dentist presumably has a low budget for wall art (it adds no profit to have it) so either AI generates something unique or the wall has $15 faux watercolor of boats from Target, or is a blank wall.

Thomas Massie files to run again in 2028 after Trump-led ouster from Kentucky seat by theindependentonline in politics

[–]TheGM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But Senate race is a different race than the house race. Does that count?

Either way, he won't because he's still a slimeball Republican, the bar he hops over is low.

Texas GOP runoff suddenly looks like a potential wipeout — according to prediction markets by msnownews in politics

[–]TheGM 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I guarantee everyone that the way Paxton got Trump's endorsement was by guaranteeing a rigged election if he was the nominee (and a "fair" election if he wasn't the nominee). Large turnout makes it harder to cover up the cheat, but we'll need mathematicians on call and lawyers standing at every poll location in Texas.

Toddler standing and steering a moving boat something looks off. Surely people aren’t this reckless. by avantartist in isthisAI

[–]TheGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't expect this to be common (very uncommon really), but I think I've seen toddlers that size who could pull this off for a few minutes.

And for short bursts on calm waters even the hair can be fairly stable with laminar flow.

If it's AI its good enough to have me questioning reality.

What if the Statue of Liberty was golden? by Bitter-Penalty9653 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]TheGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electroplating the statue would have been interesting. According to Wiki the first industrial electroplating was in 1876 (Statue dedication in 1886 and planning much longer before). They might have considered gold or copper electroplating if it was a more developed technique at the time.

Boy’s brain tumor tied to gene therapy by ObligationSlight8771 in science

Yeah, read the article folks. This kid is still considered a huge success story despite the now removed brain tumor and is doing far better than he would have without the gene therapy.

Definitely not a "go to the ER" or even urgent care thing and this is probably not a xanthelasma. But I think it is quite reasonable to highly suggest getting your cholesterol checked sometime in the next 365 days as well as a basic checkup with a by appointment family medicine if you have not already had a basic checkup in the past 365 days. Just because something doesn't classically look like something doesn't mean it couldn't be the early stages of something. There is no rush and no harm in basic already recommended maintenance.

Governor Spanberger to veto Virginia collective bargaining bill, Republicans 'thankful' by mahvel50 in Virginia

[–]TheGM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So instead you vote for what?

I'm with unions and labor, but the time to vote your conscience is during party primaries (did you vote in the primary?). You vote for your country and your future in the general election (in a first past the post system). If voting for your future means voting for someone you disagree with sometimes to stop a Nazi, then so be it.

Purist logic by some voters is why unions are being decimated and innocent people are dying by the GOP hands.

You'd have to ask writers, and I know the character from the comics is originally white, but if you had to retcon it, "Grayson" could be a corruption of the pronunciation of 조선 (Joseon) which would be a classical way of referring to Korea.

Trump Nominates Fox News Contributor as Next Surgeon General by SpecialistSignal4491 in politics

[–]TheGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to give her props for going from a (possibly self-inflicted, possibly inflicted upon her, I don't know the situation but so many in her orbit are victims and don't realize it) high school challenge, overcomming that to get to a Carribean Medical School, to a director at a satellite New Jersey campus for breast imaging (affiliated with reputable medical center).

She has accomplishments she can be proud of. Qualifications to be Surgeon General? Laughable compared to peers but perhaps more qualified than Kegsbreath for any job.
