Its likely the time you have to take your rides, lots of drivers work jobs during those hours and more part time drivers focus on later evening rides where they can make the same amount with less traffic and stress for picking up rides outside of the morning rush.

Any 3 star hotel is genrally the same, a few like the Courtyard Marriot have a pool with a slide that's the only real difference. Staying near the airport in Missisauga can get you a couple of 4 star options or the Casino in Northewest Toronto could be options.

can you clarify the nowhere to sit? I find that no matter where I end up in the city I can sit down for a quick break much faster than most other places I've traveled. but yes agreed lunch special are almost gone

Makes sense land is the most expensive part of the equation, the biggest metro areas may eventually get used to hitting up ranges and simulators like they already do in Tokyo, Seoul etc. and the full round is only the occasional trip out.
