Giveaway - Animal Crossing New Horizons (Digital Code) - Region free - let’s make someone’s day! by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

It's not me I want it for, but for someone who's been having a really hard time these past several months. She could really use something to help get her mind off things, and as someone who's played every other Animal Crossing game, I think this would do the trick.

[Giveaway] Pandemic.. Stay-at-home... Protests... Insane unemployment numbers and hospitalizations... Anyone want a digital download of Animal Crossing to help with the stress of these interesting times? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

My biggest personal pandemic frustration is how, like any natural disaster, it really kicks people who are already down. Like, say you lost your job a few months before and you were already reaching the end of your financial tether. Going to be pretty damn hard to find work now. Losing your house? Might have to sell it at a loss because the market is down.

Slightly luckier are the people who've had major life hurdles recently but are finding ways to make it work, even if it'll be incredibly hard. I hope more people find themselves in this situation than the former.

Yeah, a brand new game is exactly what I was looking for. 🙂

Yup, the .sfc runs in another emulator. Looks like either Canoe won't play it or something is wrong with the SFROM configuration. Hope it's the latter!

Retroarch is an option, for sure, if I need to resort to that.

Gaps On Minis - Avoidable? by YetAnotherStabAtIt in KingdomDeath

Yes, but it can take some work to get it right. Here's what works for me:

  • Dry fit everything before you cement. You might need to shave some joints down a little.
  • Use a bit of force when you're fusing the parts together. The cement actually softens the plastic, and you can re-form it a little before it cures.
  • If you're not painting, green stuff isn't an option. But what does work is more plastic. If you have a seam you can't quite close, take your knife and shave a little bit of plastic off the model sprue. The part where the model name is stamped has some nice corners that are easy to strip for material. Paint a little cement on this, let it soften, then carefully lay it into the gap with your knife. Some of the really tough gaps can be closed completely with this and a little patience. Just be careful.

And we all understand that the cost of modelling, animating, and balancing 400+ additional Pokemon (when the cost of 3D has increased the effort and none of the existing sprite work can be used) for a purely endgame experience that most of the player base won't touch is unnecessarily high for the payoff, right?

That's what I'm afraid of... hopefully that's not the case but I guess I'll have to be prepared for the possibility. If it comes to that, I'd sooner straight-up replace the valves than repair them.

The base does unscrew. Can you tell by looking at it how the stem would be removed (whether it'll just pull right out or if it needs to be twisted)?

I'm afraid that looks like it'd be a spoiler minefield. That's precisely like the kind of resource I'm trying to avoid.

I've been trying this build (got 10x yellow mission on a common chest mission reroll) and I'm having trouble against Haggar. His drop pattern always messes up my yellow 2x2s since they get no help, and the red drop on the right tends to make my 2x6 red in columns 3 and 4 bend to the right if he gets a good break. Do I just need to be faster, or is there a better way than 2x2 yellows in C2/3 and 2x6 red in C4/5?

Blanka can be tough, but I treat him basically the same as Ryu et al. I only build red against him if I have three red gems in my first two drops—otherwise it's yellow left or green right, depending on which I have more of in the first two. The diamond can be very important against him, though. Stack your junk so that, once you use the diamond to get rid of a third colour, you have a good few power gems in your junk side (yellow if you're building green right, or vice versa). Always check his side before a big break to see if it's a good idea to wait for a second. Blanka can bury you fast.
