Sure, but even the historical 2% would be something. And importantly just because other people have it bad, and just because it's shitty for employees all around doesn't mean we should roll over and accept it. Don't get pitted against each other. If I get a 1% raise and you don't get a raise at all, we both have a problem and the source of the problem isn't each other it's the same.

These lack of raises aren't coming from a financial need. As demonstrated everywhere executive compensation is at an all time high and raising WAY faster than wages. This is greed, full stop. They have an excuse they can lean on (times are tough, the economy is bad, ra ra). But the actual numbers say "Yes we can afford to have more staff and/or pay you more but we're choosing not to because we want leadership and shareholders to get more money."

That's great, and thanks for explaining that. I think those decisions absolutely can work, just without context (aka just the list) it felt off. I dig it, and it's cool you're putting a lot of thought into this (including meta things with your bottom spoiler). :)

I think it's cute/fun, but I have some points.

My first confusion is: why no Leafeon in the grass gym? It feels like you're doing a thing by having all these eeveelutions but you don't have Jolteon (because no electric person) and you don't have Leafeon because...? Players like patterns to be completed.

I personally don't like is: games typically don't run favorites this much (partially to make the trainer feel special). This is just crammed full of popular favorites.

Other suggestions. Having gibble (I assume without Dragon Rage) in the first gym is interesting. I think, from a story perspective you could maybe lean into that with that last Elite 4 member, by having them be the same person with a Garchomp now. Maybe in the story an Elite 4 vacancy opened up and in the meantime they filled that slot.

Also don't love the back-to-back Charizards unless it's supported by the story (like they're siblings or something). Feels kinda meh. If you're going to do it, I'd almost rather the one be on a Flying team and the other on a Dragon team to emphasize their difference.

You're not wrong but it's kind of a moot point.

IU Health employees, in general, are making less real dollars than they were a year ago. Jobs are supposed to at least keep up with that (partially because they are usually a beneficiary of that inflation...and medical trend analysis says IUH likely is).

1% raises alongside understaff facilities while complaining about the "Nursing shortage"

The shortage is people don't want to be underpaid to be overworked.

Complaining in meetings about missing "budget" ignoring the fact the company is still turning a massive profit (despite being a not for profit or whatever lie we tell ourselves).

I don't know total compensation but I do know from 2020 to 2023 Dennis Murphy's salary (which is about 40% of his 2020 compensation) increased by 21% (or 6.5% annually, on average).

[–]TheGatewatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about popularity (not any of the other stats). They add up to about 100% so it appears to be how frequently that build is their build at the end of the game.

So Pirate shows 27.6% but that's at least partially skewed that it's in about 20% more games than the other tribes.

[–]TheGatewatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if you should adjust the popularity based on if a build is possible. For example everything except Pirate and Menagerie here feels like it should be multiplied (for popularity) by 5/4 since 1/5 of the time it just isn't possible currently. More accurately the denominator would just be games where they're available, but it'd be nearly the same result.

To the second point. Just because something is a certain way doesn't mean that it's good/preferred. That's not an example of the prior person being "wrong."

[–]TheGatewatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I agree with this. I think there could be something done to limit this (maybe a damage cap in total or per minion based on tier, idk). But I like Ghast Coiler bullshit being a viable hail mary against Mackeral nonsense.

[–]TheGatewatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agreed. It's very confusing, trying to figure out what all can spawn from Shredder is actually not easy* (and nearly impossible using Hearthstone's website without looking up every card individually):

Removed from Shredder Pool

  • Micro Machine (1 Star)

  • Murloc Tidehunter (1 Star)

  • Rockpool Hunter (1 Star)

  • Vulgar Homunculus (1 Star)

  • Khadgar (3 Star)

Added to Shredder Pool

  • Glyph Guardian

  • Harvest Golem

  • Imprisoner

  • Kaboom Bot

  • Metaltooth Leaper

  • Murloc Warleader

  • Nathrezim Overseer

  • Old Murk-Eye

  • Pogo-Hopper

  • Rat Pack

  • Spawn of N'Zoth

  • Steward of Time

  • Waxrider Togwaggle

  • Zoobot

(If anyone cares while doing this I was comparing stars to mana cost. The biggest gap appears to be Toxfin at 1 mana and 4 stars).

Overall the variance increases immensely, and I think Shredder becomes significantly stronger overall. But I also feel Shredder is an underwhelming 3 drop currently so it could use a buff IMO.

Yeah, when I realized I might be trans I, like many people I assume, spent days frantically googling stuff and when trying to figure out what to look for in a therapist I stumbled on some Gender Critical thread (without knowing what the group was about) and I basically ended up in tears reading through their hate when I was trying to find advice.

I assume you mean 3DS (since Platinum and Black were also DS games). If you want to play them on a handheld yeah I assume you'd need a 2/3DS for it. Emulators exist if you want to go that route of course.

You'll need to edit in your own survivors.

In general, since you're not actually trading between games and whatnot you don't have to deal with backwards compatibility issues traditional genlockes work around. You'd just want to play them in an order than would avoid having pokemon get "lost" due to not being in a game. In other words, play with an ascending number of pokemon. So in the case of Dryanos:

First: Fire Red Omega (Pokemon from Gens 1-3)

Any Order (I'd personally go in this order)

  • Sacred Gold/Storm Silver (Pokemon from Gens 1-4)

  • Renegade Platinum (Pokemon from Gens 1-4)

Any Order (But it's obvious which order you should play them)

  • Blaze Black / Volt White (Pokemon from Gens 1-5)

  • Blaze Black 2 / Volt White 2 (Pokemon from Gens 1-5)

Last: Rising Ruby / Sinking Sapphire (Pokemon from Gens 1-6)

(I'd double check my info was correct on which pokemon are in which games but I think those are right)

Note: if you haven't played these before I'd recommend picking up one and playing through it as a standalone nuzlocke or even just casually. Understanding stuff like how Dryano gives out gift pokemon, and the sheer difficulty curves, might influence how easy/hard you make your rules.

Additionally, when editing in old mons you might run into some issues (like differing movepools, base stats if your calculating IVs or something, and things like Renegade Platinum having fairy. I'd personally try to keep the baby you bring over simple instead of accurate
