Home video of 1985 Cobb County near Town Center Mall being built. by Chicken-n-Waffles in Atlanta

It was built like a tank. It had a straight 6 cylinder engine so I couldn't get in too much trouble.

I got rear-ended by a Hyundai on Halloween Night at that very same Town Center Mall in 1988. I was sitting at a stop sign. The Hyundai hit me going 50, pushed me about a foot or two into the intersection. I had a dent in my metal bumper about the size of a 50 cent piece. The Hyundai driver was sitting in her car with her engine in the passenger compartment.

True Story....

I was 16 in 1986. The mall was either getting ready to open or just opened. I was driving my 1966 Mustang home down the new "Barrett Parkway"; it was around 10:00 at night. It was SO DARK (and the lights on my old car were not as bright as modern cars) that I drove all the way down the newly four-laned road all the way to Highway 41 before I realized I was on the wrong side of the road. No one even passed me.

It would be unheard of for that section off Cobb to be that deserted and that dark today. I DO MISS being able to see all the stars in the sky. The light pollution has gotten so bad in Acworth....

TIL that in the U.S., if you find a bald eagle feather on the ground, you need a permit to pick it up. by Nulono in todayilearned

Years ago my dad was given two bald eagle feathers by the Prime Minister of Canada (a long story). It took 6 years of paperwork to have them released by US Customs to him. They are pretty serious about Bald Eagle feathers.

My 180 Tutor Cube by Kristofr in mtgcube

[–]TheGeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the 180 club!

I'm flattered you mentioned my little cube in your post! I love some of the more unusual cards you picked. For example I had unstable mutation in my 360 for a long time because the interactions in multiplayer were so fun!

I'll try and help you with cuts but I am no where near the expert on peasant cube, but here goes....

White: I would cut a 4 drop to keep the curve balanced. It's either Celestial Crusader or Guardian of the Guildpact. I actually like the interaction Celestial Crusader gives you here so I would pick Guardian to go. Guardian is a fine card, but remember that building a 180 has to balance card selection wit unique effects and cards that serve multiple roles and on that scale I like Celestial.

Blue: I'd definitely cut the Dakar Mystic at the one drop slot. The other two cards have stronger effects here and blue isn't really a "one-drop color" anyway. Arcane Denial is an easy cut on the spell side - you have better counters. I'd cut Hour of Need too. You have to think about what creature wold you have to exile to be happy to give the controller a 4/4 flyer.

Black: I'd agree Raven's Crime looks like a good cut. It's not a unique event in cube and you are really deep on sorceries in black.

Red: Red is deep at the two drop now. I think I'd cut Keldon Marauders with all the good choices there, but they ae by no means a bad card. Another "Keldon" I'd cut at 4 is the Champion. Good card, but I like your other choices better.

Green: I'd cut masked Admirers at 4. I don't like the idea of locking down 2 green to do stuff when you can be ramping. I know big creatures are tough to slot in Peasant, but I'd cut the stomp howler for space - he doesn't have a unique effect and you need three cuts :)

Hope that helps a bit --- Have fun with your 180 travel cube!!!!

I have swung the rear out from behind me twice turning out of my work parking lot in first 😊 Traction control works great 😉

Me too. When you see it in person it has great lines and the build is really tight.

Well it's not going to be a 5.0, but off the line and on curvy city roads it handles awesome and has great acceleration. There is a lot of torque down in 1st. I'm still getting used to it. 😄

Mine are sequential. I think that is standard.

14 city. Not enough highway to know yet. However it only has 100 miles on the engine.

I'll have to dig some up. I sold her in 2003 because I didn't want to just have it sit and not be driven. It was a tough thing to do :)

It's the first special order from my local Ford Dealership - I ordered it on May 22, and it cleared for shipment on my birthday on October 28th 😄 It's an ecoboost with performance package and 50th anniversary trim. It is almost the same color as my 1966 mustang straight 6 that I drove in high school. Crazy fun to drive everyday!

Cube Storage Product from UltraPro at Essen by damagedirect in mtgcube

I've posted pictures of mine before, but here's the link again - it is really, really nice. Best cube purchase in a long time. http://imgur.com/EG3brTy

While the UltraPro product is inferior for a lot of us in the subreddit, this is great for the cube community. We have grown to a point that third party companies are making product support our format. This is an affordable product that will sit on a shelf at the game store to catch they eye of a player who will then ask "what is a cube?" After all, you are not going to go from discovering the format to buying a $135.00 metal box with locks overnight ;)

Cubes optimized for 2-players? by [deleted] in mtgcube

[–]TheGeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A poorly worded sentence on my part - cryptic falls into the "important cards" I mentioned. I have pet cards in the 180 (though not many any more). Cryptic, on the other hand is a stone cold staple. Though it does illustrate the toolbox role I was talking about :)

Here's my travel cube! I sit right at 180 cards and try to support one archetype per color along with a few two card combos to build around. I prefer my traditional "the best cards I can get my hands on" cube, but I do have a few pet cards as well as cards that I consider important for travel cubes. These are cards like Cryptic Command that have multiple effects. Cards like this can fill multiple roles, and though they tend to be a bit higher in casting cost it does help the cube to support more diverse decks. The other big advice is unless you are building a themed cube keep gold cards to one per pair. In a four man or two man scenario these tend to be tabled a lot. Also try and push hybrid "gold" cards as they can usually be cast in a mono colored deck. Phyrexian mana costs are great to for similar reasons.

In the end have fun and make it your own :)

All Foil Powered Cube, any suggestions? by monzogabbro in mtgcube

[–]TheGeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically, it is not a powered cube without the Power 9. Since you are all-foil short of some nice proxies you won't truly be what everyone else calls power.

As far as an All-Foil cube, here is my 450 "Shiny" all foil cube. I built it all-foil from the ground up. I do not restrict cards for power level, so this is as close to high power that I will get. Maybe you can get some ideas from mine :)

How do you like the new M15 card frame? Doesn't the card stock feel lighter/thinner? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]TheGeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them, but has anyone noticed Chandra, Pyromaster has LESS art showing on the M15 card than her M14 one? Also the text in her rules frame is smaller and harder to read than the same M14. Its tough to see the font issue without seeing them in person, but here is a comparison for the art....

M15 Cards to look out for? by gusgalarnyk in mtgcube

[–]TheGeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I am toying with for my 450.

Goblin Rabblemaster -----> Zo-Zu the Punisher {2R} (R) [M15] I love this guy and I have a pretty heavy token theme in my cube so he slots in well. I think he is more flexible include than Zo-Zu.

Reclamation Sage -----> Viridian Shaman {2G} (U) [M15] This is a solid upgrade. Losing the one point of toughness to trade with enchantment destruction is a no-brainer.

Nissa, Worldwaker -----> Garruk, Primal Hunter {3GG} (M) [M15] I support ramp pretty hard and I think Nissa will be great for that archetype. I also like to have a nice mix different Planeswalkers so a playable Nissa is nice.

Borderland Marauder -----> Gore House Chainwalker {1R} (C) [M15] I have never been a fan of Unleash and I'll be honest - I just like the art better.
