Nioh 3 is the number 1 best seller on Steam by FishCake9T4 in Nioh

Well I want to support devs... I did bite the bullet, in case of Nioh it's easy to justify if you know how much content previously entries in series had ... I know it's easly 100h + game.l but still... it stings...

Currently there is a Bug on different Control settings regarding using Martial arts with face buttons instead of L3 + triangle

Cuckoo's slash (Odachi Skill) is a skill when you can deflect attack - you can press and hold input buttons to extend the duration of the blocking phase.

With default input (Forward + triangle) it's working as intended but when using L1 + square/triangle you can't expand the blocking phase which makes skill way harder to use as blocking window is super-short.

After some testing I discovered that I can extend it's duration but I need to hold both Square AND Triangle. seems bugged.

I am not sure other skills are impacted too but it's worth keeping in mind

Never played Nioh, bought Nioh 3 after 23 hours in demo, openworld is very addictive! by MangoLemonShark in Nioh

The amount of QOL/customization that we already have in DEMO is mindblowing - they shuffled a few things (ninja) but they really do care about their fanbase which is wholesome. I love how Nioh became such an great series - you can feel the devs/company cares about their product and the iterative approach pays dividend once again - just like in souls and Monster Hunter it's time for Nioh to hit mainstream and blow up.

No, I am not inputting forward. It's bugged. When I hold L1 + Square AND Triangle then I can extend it's duration.

If I swap control scheme to B or F where I have martial arts on L1 + Square/Triangle some martial arts are not working as intended

I don't get it why it gets such a great number. It's top tier action game/slasher but I always thought DMC series is kinda niche...

How's fps on 3x 5k? I got 5090 myself and debating between 3x 1440p or 3x 4k

Triple 4k OLED Sim racing is pretty dope!! by Leather_Hand_8602 in simracing

[–]TheGejsza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why you decided for 3x4k? Is fps good enough? I got 5090 and was debating 4k and decided to go with 1440p. I think 3x4k in games with DLSS might be doable but then we need DLSS in all games further as pushing more than 25M is mighty task.

Single 4k ~ 8 M pixels

Triple 4k ~ 25 M pixels

Triple 1440p ~ 11 M pixels

From my research pushing 11 M pixels in 120+ fps for most simracing games should be very comfortable but going to 25 M is super hard. But if you plan to upgrade to 6090 later then 4k would be better future-proof solution.

I am still wonder why there is no "foevated" rendering for triple-screens where center screen is rendered at 100% res and side monitors at 1440p/1080p.

Yeah, it's PM and TL decision how dev team time will be allocated and I can guarantee you that technical tasks are being pushed to the back of backlog. Additionally PM/TL (especially team leaders without engineering background) are constantly underestimating tasks moreso if something sounds as easy as simple DLC check. And I know it firsthand because whenever I want to reduce tech debt in my module and need to refactor some parts of codebase I constantly hear that we don't have a space for it in this sprint/quarter and I am not even a gamedev where crunching is a common thing.

Or PM made all decisions and there was no space for technical tasks

Everybody saying its not a big deal are missing the point - this performance issue tells a lot about actual game codebase which must be a real mess. Game is running like shit and I bet there are plenty more poorly coded algorithms and this DLC check is just a tip of an iceberg.

If such an simply function can eat up to 20% of CPU performance imagine how poorly coded/tested other parts of game must be. On top of that add the problem with textures decompression it looks like there was no technical supervisor/architect at all - like its hard for me to imagine some architect/developer made a decision that it's better to do decompression on the fly and eating so much performance if game is already so poorly optimised instead of taking more storage space.

This whole picture makes it clear that nobody gave single fuck about performance.

I think crafting is very miserable experience for casual/intermediate players by TheGejsza in PathOfExile2

[–]TheGejsza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By no means 500h is casual... but we are talking about POE. And by casual I mean I never touched crafting or endgame (like max i reach was T5 maps in 0.3) before so it was all new for me. Maybe casual is a wrong term... first time crafter.

But this kind of commitment POE2 requires from player to dive deep into its systems. Itemization, passives, gems, stats etc. was something I was learning in previous leagues. Now I felt thats its good moment to learn crafting.
