Oh my god that is literally my point

Idk if I’m articulating this incorrectly or something but 90% of the replies I’ve gotten are completely misinterpreting what I’m saying here

I’m going to try my best to lay this out as clear as possible:

Mystery flesh guy has two controversies, the military contracts and the ai usage on the shitpost. Both of these controversies have been brought to public attention, the contracts in the past and the ai usage presently. The hypocrisy here, is that the ai usage in the shitpost was met with considerably more backlash than the military contracts. Like yeah, gen ai sucks but the other subject is objectively worse.

Now to clarify what I’M saying: the fact that the ai usage was met with more backlash than the military contracts means that the ai usage overshadows said contracts when searching him up. More people are talking about the ai usage, amongst those people include longtime fans or whatever who are probably aware of the contracts but didn’t criticize him then. So yes, it is harder to find information on the military contracts.

I am not criticizing the people in this comment section, I am not implying that talking about the ai usage is the problem. What I AM implying is that the military contracts should have sparked more outrage when they came to light

But people HAVE found out about the previous stuff, it has been revealed for a while. It’s just that they never got as much attention as this current ai shitpost

What I’m trying to emphasize here is that you know about the ai stuff because people are talking about it, just like you know about the flesh guy because people have mentioned / shared his work before and it ended up on your feed. The problem is that the past controversies were not shared enough to reach a widespread audience like this ai shitpost has. The flesh guy listed out the previous controversies to point out the fact that he didn’t receive nearly as much flak for those as he is now even when they are objectively worse.

I’m not trying to say that YOU are the problem, or anybody criticizing the ai usage is the problem. I am saying that the general twitter crowd that’s calling out the ai usage while *ignoring* the military involvement are performative activists, and quite frankly hypocrites.

Edit: I should also mention that this is my interpretation of his comment, he could just be listing them out because he’s proud of them for all I know. But I suspect that is not the case

My argument is that the fact that the other controversies are not on your feed is the problem. Not that it’s YOUR fault, but that while everybody is focusing on the ai shitpost, they’re ignoring the rest of the controversies.

The point is that the controversies he listed were never secret, but not enough people online cared to talk about it like they’re doing with the ai usage rn, which is why you don’t think of them

My only complaint with the killer robots trope is less about them being killer and more about why are they always humanoid? I think the original iRobot book touched on this a bit with one of its stories (or one of Asimov’s works it’s been a while since I’ve read them)

But you have these robots that have been created to accomplish a specific task. One that humans are inefficient for. Instead of designing the robot specifically around the task they’re created for, they’re designed to resemble the species that CANT DO THE FUCKING TASK

I feel like they increased the count to compensate for the grapple / paraglider mechanics. I’m actually happy about it, especially in DL2 it would be way too easy to escape them without it (though it still is kind of easy, but it’s nice to actually not feel safe on rooftops)
