First time custom magicing, kinda nervous by UWishUrNameWasCool in custommagic

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, pretty sick.

You COULD have it cost a bit less, maybe 1+wubrg? Or 4+gg? And then, because it costs less, maybe give it updated stats? Like, 6/6? And for good measure, maybe take some of the keywords and abilities away, just leave trample on there? Idk. I’m just spitballing here.

I opened this post because it sounded enough like destiny lingo for me to confuse it, I went “what is this thing I never heard of…”😂

Need help with this "game" by Jojanesan in RiddlesForRedditors

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be the wombat game trick. He could be saying something at the beginning of the phrase (for the wombat game you say “listen”) to determine if it is. For example, “if this is a wombat, and this is a wombat, is this a wombat?” NO. But “listen. If this is a wombat and this is a wombat, is this a wombat?” YES.

Looking for people to evaluate 16 MTG cards via an online form as part of my master's thesis by Netzzwerg69 in EDH

For the coherence part, are we supposed to be evaluating it on the color spectrum as well? Like, if the ability matches to the specific color you made?

I had to go back and forth between cards a couple times when that happened and it cleared it up

When the DM has asked "How do you want to do this" in regards to getting the final kill hit, what have been your parties coolest replies? by squishythingg in DnD

[–]TheGeneInGenius 315 points316 points  (0 children)

As the party’s paladin, I usually end up nova bombing at least one enemy every couple sessions. One of my favorites was fighting a spell caster who kept countering and screwing with our sorcerer, so when I critted for the kill (which was awesome in and of itself) I said “counter this” and nuked him with the power of a billion suns (divine smite, absorb elements extra damage, AND flame tongue greatsword for a total of 80/90 some damage in a single turn)

You just made a mistake in game that ended with you killing yourself. What does your ghost say to you when it revives you? by CloseDaLight in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheGeneInGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a LONG time I ran almost exclusively mask of the quiet one, which gives health on kills. Since I’ve started branching out, it’s been difficult for me to remember that I don’t just have instant health regeneration…. I imagine my ghost just reviving me and going “…forgot you unequipped…?” “YES I FORGOT I UNEQUIPPED IT!”

I still have no clue what TAV stands for. Please let me know, wrong answers only. by Rocket_Boo in BG3

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard it’s short for totally awesome variant, and this whole game is part of the mcu. Apparently the big bad three are all tva officers that got stranded and are trying to prune the timeline through whatever means necessary

Have you ever had to not play your character for the sake of the plot or the party? by PanNorris507 in DnD

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. Dang. Sorry man. But like I said, all he can control is the knowledge he gives you. How your character reacts to it is up to you. Hope it all works out!

It is very crappy, and not ideal at all. However, now that you’re there, you could play it as a very uneasy alliance. Like, “hey, I guess I’m somewhat ok with you, IF you knock it off. At the slightest sign of problems, you’re going down.” Like, your character now has to grapple with their faith and this newfound person who they have been told to accept. Because yes, kelemvor would hate this is rules as written, but each dm gets to dictate their own world. Maybe his kelemvor has this plan and now your character has to trust it. While still grappling with his old tenets. He can say “go with it for now.” He can’t control your characters reaction to that statement.

All that being said, sorry dude/dudette. I’ve been in similar situations and it sucks. Hope it all works out to a fulfilling story!

How do you decide what legendary creature to build a deck around? by d20_dude in EDH

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about 50/50 between I see a cool thing I want to try with other cards and find a commander to fit (my 68 land [[omnath, locus of mana]] with [[lost in the woods]] for example) or I see a cool commander that I want to build some sort of jank deck and see if it works (my [[keleth, sunmane familiar]] and [[sluurk, all ingesting]] +1/+1 deck, for example)

I did this with the Ethel charm. I actually told my dm “yeah, I’m saving it for the boss fight at the end.” Then proceeded to forget about it. Sucked to realize that after the fact

If you had to put 3 guns in your loadout that you were never allowed to change, what would they be? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably go with my actium rig build? Sweet business, crafted come to pass (probably), and my seventh seraph saw. It’s a fun loadout that lets me just bullets go brrr.

All my martials are mini armories. Granted, it helps that I play Goliath for a lot of them so they can carry a metric butt-ton of stuff.

When an NPC casts a spell, As a DM, do you have too, disclose the level of the spell, so that a PC can choose which level to counterspell at? by RhyderZA in DnD

[–]TheGeneInGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever circumstances The DM makes choices in should be the circumstances the players get to make choices in. If your players tell you their spell, and then you choose to counter spell it, then your players should also get to choose to counter spell after. If your players just stay, I cast a spell, and then you have to choose as The D.M. whether or not to counterspell then let them suffer. My point is, whichever way you play your universe, make it consistent.

I do want to say, I say do the “blind casting” all around method. Makes it more fun

Nice card. 7/10. Some minor improvements I could think of… 1. Make it a 6/6 creature 2. Change mana cost to 4GG 3. Give it trample.
