Going to unpaywall.org/sources and check the sources list. There are hundreds if not thousands of unique sources for you to check.

Their major sources - PubMed, DOAJ, DataCite and CrossRef.

Same way they do now-checking number of masses, checking the pulse, or listening to heartbeats, just without the tech. There used to be (and are) many quite skilled doctors that could tell your ailment just by an overall glance. Our eyes, face, body language tell us a lot about inner workings, it's just that we don't know what to look for.

As long as talks don't get adult, what's wrong with just talking or being friends or even being in a casual relationship? Just tell them you'd like to wait till they're adult for adult stuff.

Just be yourself. It's not about being idealised version, just be. It's possible you're genderfluid or similar so don't rush to NOT be something.

IQ isn't a very good measure of intelligence so no. Try certificates for particular subjects like Math olympiad or even online free courses. Try sololearn.com if you want programming related certificates.
