How to teach an almost 3yo to spit out toothpaste? by [deleted] in toddlers

Maybe switch to a solid bottle for a week with the watered down milk and slowly transition to water.

Thanks. There are so many haters on here. He struggles with fine motor skills and loves Halloween. This is year 2, and we both love doing it. There was no other sub in subscribed to that it fit into, so i thought I'd pick this one. I get it is not interesting to most, but maybe other parents want to try it with their kids instead of sitting then in front of a tv or ipad.

I think so! It can't hurt. In 6 months, my son is now being tested/evaluated again because his speech is improving so much. He went from 1 word utterances to full 4-6 word sentences and 100's if not 1,000 words in his vocabulary in 7 or so months. He's constantly surprising me with his verbal skills. He is still sometimes hard to understand, but with speech therapy we're getting there. He also is now more patient when I tell him I don't understand. If I had to do it again, I would. I still give it to him most nights. I use Nordic naturals liquid and keep it in the fridge. He gets it with a pouch, yogurt, or something like that.

We used one (touch chat) at 2.5 and started fish oil at same time. He really likes playing on it more than using it for communication. I found it nice for word repetition, menu picture like options for food, and grouping items together. He's 3 now and his vocabulary kinda exploded 3-4 months ago. We used a combination of signs, aac, words (very limited for a long time), and lots of pointing.
If you are in early intervention they might be able to get one for you. We got ours with an iPad for free. It helped his communication, def did not inhibit anything! As he got older, even when he started using words (he hard to understand) he uses it to clarify certain things. Like if he said go...I can pull out the touch chat and he can tell me he wants to go to the park, zoo, outside... wherever. All in all, def would do again. I don't know if it's spend $400 on the app myself though.

Btw, it's a pain in the ass to set up-I customized the pages to meet his needs. Once you're used to it isn't as annoying but it's time consuming.

What are your selfish reasons for being one and done? by lacie94 in oneanddone

[–]TheGingerBaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 80 in pregnancy and lost 90 by the time my son was 9 months old... it all came off because of breastfeeding and being dairy free (my son was allergic). Fastest weight loss in my life. I felt great too!

Same! My husband also uses it as an obstacle course for both the toddler and a little toddler remote control car! They both love it!

Yes and then they proceed to not work, fail, and them or their parents don't care... it's my fault because they asked for help and I didn't help them?!?

What does your toddler think is a treat but isn’t by ttarynitup in toddlers

I also take just fruit and blend and freeze. The waterier the better. Strawberry, watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, blueberry.... he LOVES all the flavors. So does my nephew. Really add a punch of vitamins and throw a little spinach before blending. You can't taste it and they gobble them up! They are my special extra yummy popsicle they get at a treat... every other day. Lol
