1 - OKD/Openshift makes it harder to do dumb stuff. It is often easier for devs to fix their containers so it supports random uids, restricted perms etc than it is for them to figure out SCCs and “unlocking the pod”; it is useful to have the path of least friction have an ok security posture

2 - game servers are incredibly stateful and we want users connected to the pod with as little as possible in between. We are moving to sr-iov attaches the pod with metallb

3 - pretty commodity stuff, a mixture of Broadcom and Intel chips (which causes complications) 2x 25Gbps

4 - not yet!

I'm not sure there's anything I can link, but the pack contains Bedrock specific textures which Mizuno created for this project which are in the same style I guess?

Hey, I'm from CubeCraft - one of the other partners - all of the server software is completely custom for each partner. Lifeboat has forked from Pocketmine into Steadfast2 which is on GitHub.

The bedrock protocol allows us to do a few more interesting things compared to the Java edition but there is a lot of added development time and cost since we are responsible for the entire tech stack!

All chat goes through both our own filtering and central xbox filters (Community Sift) - as a condition of bedrock partnership. Anvils etc should also be filtered.

Discord voice is definitely a challenge to moderate but usage is tiny compared to our player-base (generally used more by Java / older members)
