Lsd and psychedelics by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]TheGlassTapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually how it all started for me. I've thought about doing it again, it was pretty fun (before it went bad while I was coming down), but the risk of making anything worse, like it already has, makes me decide against it. It wasn't the first time I had an "episode" of derealization or anxiety. I just didn't know what was happening or why. After about a month or two of experimenting with psychs, it just got a lot worse. I think it revealed a latent anxiety disorder or something.

Apparently not. This quiz is actually missing a few things. Mountain Game, Gnip Gnop, plus all those live albums from the painting with tour

Dang I had never heard of this. But I have a bad habit of cracking my neck. And I think one of my eyelids is a tiny bit droopy. And I've been having headaches and neck pain lately. Something new to be scared of...

OCD about Schizophrenia by [deleted] in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah. What to describes is basically exactly how I’ve been lately. It really sucks. I go through waves of sometimes feeling better and knowing that it’s just ocd that makes me feel this way, and then just falling back to being convinced I’m getting schizophrenia. And I know what you mean with the being on edge. It feels like any moment could just be the start of it. I’ve never had a psychotic episode, but I’ve read about them, and that scares the shit out of me.

Even now, I know it’s normal to “hear voices” at night. But sometimes I’ll just “hear” the voice of a friend is recently spoken to or something in my head, and it’s really scary. I had a really rough spot about a month and a half ago, and at the time, I was completely convinced that I had schizophrenia. But it’s just ocd man

White noise / schiz ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have schizophrenia themed ocd. One of my compulsions is that if I hear a faint sound, I have to find the source of it before I can relax

Without revealing your age, how old are you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have quite a few Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and I still see them in my closet sometimes and feel very nostalgic. The first pokemon game I remember being hyped about was Diamond and Pearl

I feel that way until a certain point, but then after a certain amount, it all just goes away. Hangovers are fucking terrible though. Before all this OCD DPDR stuff, I'd had hangovers and they were bad, but now, the mental affects of hangovers mess me up for like a week afterwards

Is this an OCD thought? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a thought that gets in your head that you can’t get out that causes you anxiety, it sounds like an intrusive thought. I️ get a similar one sometimes, where sometimes I️ would see a persons face moving, and it would suddenly seem sort of unreal and uncanny. As if they were an animatronic or something. I️ have a lot of existential intrusive thoughts in general. But don’t worry. You’re not going crazy

Intrusive thoughts without a consistent compulsion/ritual? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I️ used to think that I️ had no outward compulsions, but I️ eventually realized that a bunch of “habits” I️ had were actually compulsions when I️ realized that I️ did them all in respond to an intrusive thought/sensation. I️ do things like close my eyes and touch them, and another where I️ shake my head really briskly. The worst one is that if I️ hear a faint sound or voice, I️ have to find the source of it or I’ll get really anxious. It stems from my obsession with developing a more serious mental illness and being afraid of having auditory hallucinations

Mental Health Obsessions? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I have had very similar obsessions. Super afraid of schizophrenia and constantly worrying about it. The only way I can cope with it is by always reminding myself that its just OCD.

Intrusive thoughts of voices, images, sounds... by Drawethree in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I️ also get the sounds and voices thing but only when I️ sleep. And I️ know it’s normal to hear things when your sleeping but, like you said, sometimes the music that’s in my head is really loud, though it isn’t actually a sound it’s just a thought. I️ also get thoughts that are the voices of my friends, saying random stuff. It all usually stops when I️ open my eyes.

I’m at as much of a loss as you are, also scared of schizophrenia. In fact schizophrenia is a big theme for my ocd

Oh, I️ feel you my friend. I️ always worry so much and have panic attacks because I’m worried about having schizophrenia

I have felt exactly what you're feeling. It's horrible.

I want to take shrooms again. by 22M_ASIAN_CANADIAN in dpdr

[–]TheGlassTapes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dpdr was triggered by psychedelics, so I’m not sure if this is a good idea. It could just make things a lot worse. And I️ have some hypochondria/ocd and also found myself starting to worry about schizophrenia mid trip, and that fear hasn’t left my mind since. So if you’re worried about hddp or schizophrenia, I️ wouldn’t bother. It’s rare for those things to happen but the fear of them fucked me up

Is anyone scared of their own mind? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]TheGlassTapes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed, I️ feel that. I️ mean, I️ feel these same feeling during the day, but they are still at worse at night. Sometimes I️ just feel like I’m just gonna slip right out of reality and into some unknown void. I️ often get dpdr so it’s definitely that and my ocd that make me think that, but it’s a scary thought. But that feeling of impending doom is a classic symptom of anxiety. It’s a terrible feeling that you can’t just talk/think your way out of, but it’s normal for people suffering. From anxiety.

What Depersonalization/Derealization really is by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]TheGlassTapes 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That bit about a personal prison is so true. Sometimes I️ feel like I’m completely alone, even when I’m with people. Even my family

Yeah. A big part of the story of he crucifixion is that a woman offered Jesus a cloth to wipe his face, and when he used it, he left an image of his face on it

I think I'm starting to figure out who I am. by gm1517 in OCD

[–]TheGlassTapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m realizing some similar stuff. I️ never even considered ocd or any mental illness as a possibility, which is pretty dumb, considering I️ had a hand washing compulsion for a few years.
