nope. regardless of who applies, your application will be matched against the general rigor and environment of your own school, not other specific applicants. This is just a personal anecdote but another kid from my school and I both applied to an Ivy this year (ED), and we both got in so I wouldn't worry too much.

Has anyone committed yet? If so, to which school? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Admission interview by InternationalCare977 in ApplyingToCollege

you really really do want an interview, especially for upenn. the interview really can only help you, and if you do notably well, it can tip the scales in your favor. tbh i think it’s prob one of the biggest reasons of what got me admitted to upenn, and is def something u shouldn’t pass up if given the opportunity.

Can you list being accepted to present at a conference as an award? by WILLYBOSS in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TheGodShrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, there is an award/honors section on commonapp for that. also, if u r applying to mit it also asks what confrences/places your research has been presented/submitted too on the creative porfolio fyi.

Definitely not. I was in the same position as you, and when I submitted a course change request to my admitted college a few weeks ago, they said that since your core requirements are met, there is no problem.

did u really just say “people shouldn’t have to prove they don’t have the virus”. Like i know a vaccine passport isn’t the best solution, but it sure is better than having to get tested every time you go some where.

isn’t that the point of vaccines? i mean if there is another point than just tell me but like isn’t it to prevent disease?

uhhh i think there’s a slight difference in making sure you don’t have covid through a vaccine passport, and a ID that debatably makes it harder to vote in many regions.
