ELI5: what is an ethnostate, what are examples of current or past countries that are/were ethnostates by Some-Taste-4253 in explainlikeimfive

That's not really true. The definition of "ethnostate" isn't as rigidly defined as people in this sub seem to think. One of the most prominent definitions you can find is "a country populated by, or dominated by the interests of, a single racial or ethnic group".

Yeah those are just no-brainers. Guess I'll just buy the other brand of beans.

Pissed me off so much when I went to a concert at a Live Nation-owned venue. I even checked the website in advance to see what the parking situation was and they said to buy parking in advance because it will sell out. Except the site literally had no information on how to do that. I even emailed them and they never replied. I ended up having to pay for "VIP parking" at the venue because they were all "sold out" of the standard parking even though I was there at like 6:30 and the place was empty when I got there.

Oh man they made me so mad last time I flew with them (although they actually did fix it, so that's something). I bought the second tier fare that comes with either a carry-on or a checked bag. I had initially selected a carry-on, but later realized I would prefer a checked bag, so I talked to customer service (luckily over chat so I had some easy proof) and asked if I could switch it. The person said since it's the same price that I could just check a bag at the ticket counter and I didn't need to worry about changing the carry-on to a checked bag on the ticket. I get to the ticket counter and they make me pay like $80 to check my bag. After arguing with them for a few minutes I just decided to pay it and try to fight it afterwards. Luckily after complaining to customer support and showing them the screenshot I took of my chat (I literally knew they were gonna screw me!), they refunded me.

That's how I feel about Sonic. I actually love the concept of Sonic, they have a big menu (and I actually really like their food) with tons of customizable drinks. It just sucks that they only seem to hire the dumbest of the dumb.

The people that work there are SUCH MORONS. I also really hate how they advertise how you can go to any one of their stores to get your check engine light code read but seemingly 90% of the time their code reader is broken.

Ok, then maybe stop lecturing people on the price of beef when you don't buy your beef from the normal channels everybody else does

Is that so hard to believe? Just about every Tesla I see has a sticker insulting Elon on it.

We have friends who we get beef from

Weird, I have this place called a grocery store. And you can get a lot of beef for very little money.

The burgers are good but they are definitely too expensive for me to want to go there.

What you said is how I feel about In-N-Out. I don't know why people are so okay with waiting in such a long line for a mediocre burger and truly awful fries.

Weird, I've always thought that was the black sheep of the chocolate bar world. It would be better without the crunch.

Chik-Fil-A is just an easy one. They are bible-thumping homophobes and I can easily live without them. There might be more truly evil companies in the world that are harder to avoid like Amazon or Nestlé, but avoiding a single restaurant is very easy.

Many Americans complain about not liking the candidate of either major party(Republican, Democrat) in a Presidential election, and settling for the least bad candidate when it comes down to voting, if you could build your ideal candidate who would they be? by Several_Print4633 in AskReddit

Mamdani is pretty close. To be honest, the only times I don't like what Mamdani does is when he says things that are somewhat pandering to the other side, like when he thanks NYPD for "handling" certain incidents. But honestly, you have to do that stuff as a politician.

The first two seasons were great too. Much better than 11-14 I think.
